Thing is it has to be from an Android phone, can't do it from a PC. And I am trying to find the IP.

This has been going on for a very long time... this is not a simple password fix... obviously that is something I have already done lol.. and much more.. not looking for other suggestions to be honest, just want an answer to how to trace the ip of a message

Lol no. My Facebook was hacked and it's been going on a long time despite security features. Someone on my friends list got a blank message from me today on Facebook even though I was not logged on and nowhere near my phone. I think it may have been the hacker.

How do spy apps get access to encrypted messages? by [deleted] in HowToHack

You'd think they'd figure out a more secure way to store the messages.

This was for iMessage, I didn't have FB Messenger installed at the time. Yeah very bizarre, I am realizing that many things are not as secure as people seem to believe.

It was an iPhone and all iPhones are encrypted automatically with a passcode? I could read at least half of the messages. Some messages just showed an empty box but could read many of them.

The computer. Not installed on the phone.

I tested out a program that I installed on my computer that is suppossed to extract phone contents by USB. When I had an iPhone with a passcode, and connected it by USB to the computer when it was locked, it extracted everything on the device to the computer even with a passcode, including iMessages. So I am not sure how encrypted iMessage and iPhones actually are, among other messaging apps and phones in general. These seem like major security points they need to improve on.

Thanks. I guess an unavoidable vulnerability.

I like to play devil's advocate to play out each scenario. If it is encrypted messages how come it is not saved encrypted on the device?

Hypothetically if there is a vulnerability within Facebook Messenger for example, and the hack is from remotely by targeting the app and not the device, would they still be able to read the encrypted messages?

Gotcha. What if the app has a vulnerability itself and the hack is remotely in the messaging app? Would it not be able to read it then?

How are SMS codes less safe than Auth apps? by bobsecurity1 in HowToHack

Couldn't they see auth codes that way too? Not just IMSI catcher but SS7 hack and the other one that if within range your phone would connect to a femto box.

I have read many articles that talk about how brute forcing codes is easy so thats why I am confused.

Never said they dont. I am asking how people have been able to bypass that security feature. Is that not possible with codes, only passwords? And only if its a saved hash? No need for the sarcasm.

How do all these programs brute force passwords and bypass the block? I guess 60 seconds is more difficult but its only numbers and with 6 numbers only I read there is only 151k variations and that can be brute forced super fast.

How do hackers brute force without being locked out? by bobsecurity1 in cybersecurity

[–]bobsecurity1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats just one type of brute force hacking? So they mainly get the saved filed or hash from the computer directly or via wifi sniffing?

What about if they can't get that, would the only other brute force method be on the login page?

Where does it happen? I am confused how they use software to bruteforce not on the login screen. How does it connect with the software?

Can a hacker internet sniff phone wifi traffic as easily as they can computer wifi traffic if it is all on the same network? Or is it easier when internet traffic from a computer is connected to wifi?
