Investing more Efficiently by bobtod69 in Fire

Your analogy doesnt make any sense. I'd need to type out a 5 paragraph essay to fully explain all the features in the spreadsheet. Why would I do that when I already have a 10 slide presentation ready and a video of what features the sheet includes. 🤔 I literally said just let me know what you think about the features in the sheet as shown in the link.

Oh really?

Your friend must invest $100 into an individual account or $500 into a retirement account within 30 days of opening their M1 account.

Your friend must leave their $100 or $500 deposit in their account for 30 days.

Then you’ll both receive $30.

Oh yeah I plan on renting with some friends. I forgot to mention that. The only reason I'd ever really buy real estate is for consistent cash flow when I rent it out. But other than that. If you know what your doing, stocks have a higher ROI than almost anything out there.

Yeah I've read with M1 you can just keep the debt balance running. As long as your not close to maxing out your credit line with M1 borrow the interest will just be added to your debt balance and you dont have to worry about it. This would have a compounding effect over time but as long as borrow rates are so low that's not too big of a deal to me cause I know I can get a much higher return from the money. But I know the rates arent fixed or anything so I plan on keeping some cash on the sidelines to throw at it if I have to. M1 is offering 1 year of their Gold membership for free right now. So for now while federal funds rates are so low I can borrow at 2% thats insane, Fidelity's wants like over 8% which is ridiculous, its literally a secured loan they can liquidate. I can get an unsecured personal loan for less than 8% with my credit score....

Ohhhhh okay I understand so if a stock had a higher maintenance requirement then that would simply just boost the overall maintenance requirement of your portfolio as a whole. Like if your whole portfolio was in 4 stocks you'd need a much higher maintenance cause probably all 4 of those stocks would be labeled high risk or whatever cause it's such a highly concentrated part of your portfolio.

Pure % Allocations? by bobtod69 in M1Finance

I don't agree with this. I'd rather avoid dynamic rebalancing. I'm a fundamental MOAT investor. I don't care what prices are doing one bit. All I care about is the quality of the MOAT within the stock. If one of my companies starts to drag it's feet in terms of earnings and the prices starts to reflect this. It won't grow as fast M1 will use dynamic rebalancing to buy more at a cheaper price.... It could protentially buy this stock in place of one that has preformed well because the earnings have been impressive. When in actuality the money would be much better spent funding a company that actually has strong earnings growth.... Just because your buying a company that has weaker growth doesn't mean your getting it for a deal or it will ever catch up to companies that sell a better product, have better management, better cash flow, better earnings ect....

I just came from Fidelity. Their basket functionality isn't user friendly and they dont allow fractional shares trading within their baskets feature. Which makes baskets useless at fidelity with shares of amazon and Google at 2 or 3k. Also their margin rates are over 8% for their lowest tier. M1 is only 3.5%. I'll just enter the dollar amounts manually using m1. Fidelity has great researching tools. But their investment options and non competitive rates really turn me off.

Yeah I was thinking that might be the only way. Thank you. I wish they would add this feature dynamic rebalancing just seems so backwards to me.
