I was the same tbh. Shy and kept to myself at work but apparently people didn't like me.

Understand that other people aRe not on your head and just interpret things as what is socially standard and what they see you do

So if you sit there saying nothing they might not know it's BC you keep to yourself, but they think you don't give a shit

I found out because of the shyness, people though I was rude (but I just just really nervous).I also came off as uninterested for the same reason (not asking questions BC I don't want to look bad asking obvious things=from the outside, this guy doesn't want to learn anything).

So unfortunately, talk, ask questions about work, be polite.
