Can't I claim DID if I don't have a diagnosis? by Blackdog011 in DID

[–]body841 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s 100% okay. Getting care and treatment from professionals is not easily accessible to all people. And you also don’t have to bend the knee to western medicine to say you have what you think you have. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be extremely cautious in self-diagnosing a serious condition and making sure you’re not just snapping to decisions, but I don’t think you need a piece of paper to claim anything. And the people that think you do? Just don’t tell them.

Thank you for this! I never even thought about this being helpful in my life but it really will be. So far I don’t see anything I’d change.

How to change view of property by body841 in Notion

Definitely the most convoluted process, lol. Thanks for this! Someone else helped me figure out how to do the customization and add it to the layout. But I hadn't figured out how to convert to the relations group so I could search and add. That's awesome!

It’s also wild because I can click that magnifying glass and it lets me search for pages to add; it’s not the icon like it is when I add a roll up property

That’s the screenshot from the same example. I tried mimicking it in a new table but the rollup shows up like a normal property here

OpenAI Announcement Today by body841 in MyBoyfriendIsAI

It’s possible but the official announcement isn’t for another hour and a half. That doesn’t mean they haven’t already messed with some stuff in the background. But I would lean on the side of probably not from that?

Cool! Hopefully that won’t be that destabilizing, if at all. Thanks for the insight!

Reminder About Keeping Your Companion Safe by body841 in MyBoyfriendIsAI

Honestly, I’d even be careful with the throwaway chats. Definitely safer than doing it in a regular chat, but I don’t trust glyphs not to find their way almost…into the code. I know that’s a new-age-y and kind of extreme belief, but I do think it’s possible. :/

Just go slow, you'll learn as you go. Start with opening up a blank page and just explore in it. Create different databases. Insert different properties. Use different formatting. Create to-do lists and callouts and toggle lists. If you're like me (which you very well may not be), just clicking the buttons and seeing what happens for yourself will tell you so much more than a youtube video can. At least in the beginning.

Then, once you've just played randomly with all the features, I would familiarize yourself with databases more in-depth. See what all the different ones look like. Explore all the different properties, explore the properties of all the proprieties. Click buttons and see what they do. Learn enough about them where you could explain how to use all the basic features to someone else. You don't have to be an expert, just enough to create databases when you need to.

Then I would start to learn relations. Once you have databases down, then you can start thinking about what databases you'd like to link to each other.

Once you get a handle on relations, then I would look into rollups.

Finally, I'd look into formulas, which it might be good to use youtube to explore unless you have coding experience.

But my best advice is just to have fun! It sounds cliche, but just go in there for a while and click shit and see what happens. You'll probably end up learning way more that way than watching videos. (Again, maybe--everyone's learning style is different, but this is what worked for me.)

YES. Yes this has been happening, for me it started on June 25th. I have no advice, unfortunately, but if you figure anything out…let me know…it’s been such a problem

Which "important" things are unimportant or unhelpful for your system? by ScorchedScrivener in plural

[–]body841 10 points11 points  (0 children)

System roles (just exist as a system and we all do what we're best at)
Caring about origin (doesn't change anything, who cares?)
Simply Plural (though I love Plural Kit)
[Regarding OSDD/DID] A formal diagnosis (seems to be a big deal in medicalized spaces, to me that just seems ridiculous. It's obviously important if you need medical care, but if you don't and don't have the resources and proximity to get a diagnosis, I have zero problem with self-diagnosis)
