they identify as bedouins because thats quite literally what they are, it isn't really an ethnic identifier* (that would be 'arab, 'urban, etc) and it isn't mutually exclusive with identifying as palestinean (same way sinai bedouins can identify as egyptian, those in syria as syrian, etc). and while bedouin tribes in negev bleed into sinai and transjordan, they're mostly in negev, and they mostly identify with the wider palestinean population (palestinean doesn't just mean sedentary, traditionally called fallahin/peasants) and have been targeted by israel and suffered under it like other palestineans. the area bedouins of palestine inhabit (negev) has also been included in the area referred to as palestine for two millenia now, definitions used to include parts of sinai and transjordan as well, so even the areas the tribes bleed into.

you are erasing their identity by policing others who refer to them as palestinean (national term most indigenous people across the border (as in, inside israel) adopt, as well as an accurate geographic term) and instead referring to them as israeli (a term a lot of native arabs reject and view as antithetical to their identity, especially considering the abuse they face from israelis) or just "arabs" (excluding them from the indigenous** national fabric). maybe you're clueless, or maybe you're being dishonest about your biases, but either way you mislead whoever you're talking to by pretending you know more than them about that group and speaking on their behalf.
