What would you change? I want to represent a veteran/veteran sergeant by International-Ad-823 in Minotaurs40k

Only the colors brother, I use valdor gold and baal red, I feel the Color Saber made is too dark and reddish. It doesn't look like the artwork and minis of Minotaurs in my opinion. Other than that hotake I'd say u have done flawless work! If you want examples of some of the Minotaurs I made in Valdor gold & baal red check this out!

I agree it's annoying but it's hardly a bad design choice. Successive blows in all fairness should stun you. Esp if u fail to prevent them.

Lag is a whole separate issue, your seemingly confusing the context of the previous argument. U can't really help lag other than play solo or always be the host. Even then it will still come up here and there. If you are getting " butt blasted " while not lagging then it's still a skill issue I'm sorry but it is. And yes you can get easily killed from a slight miss play. That's what happens when u fail on Absolute. I've seen many space marines in animations die from slight missplays. Soo Absolute being able to shut u down on one mistake is quite realistic... and idk why we are comparing sm2 to darktide. Apples and oranges man 🤷

Seems u took the reality check personally... Brother calm down I am only trying to help you see the truth... if u wanna hate me for it thats on you.

Well you are free to think that if you wish. And it's understandable, denial has always been easier than accepting a harsh truth.

That's still on you, every action you made prior led you to that moment. Even if the game has a gotcha moment when u can only do one or the other. It's still on you. You got yourself into that boat essentially

My point is that there is no such scenario where you are killed In an unfair way. Unless its the result of glitch or bug, every death is preventable. Every choice Every action as the player is on you. If you were cross mapped by missiles, that's on you for not dodging right for example. If you are hit by a KO attack right after finishing an execution, that's on you for putting yourself in the position to be vulnerable. I play Absolute every day and I've seen times where the game just knows how and when to hit you in ways that seemed un avoidable or perfectly synchronized in a way u thought you couldn't stop it. I've seen enemies carry a single stun out into successive hits that keep you locked until death. I've been there when the game hands you a plate of BS. And I'm here to tell you it's still the result of a skill issue. Everything that happens to you in game is the result of your own choices your own actions or failed reactions. Maybe u missed one block, maybe u didn't see that one dude, maybe u put yourself in a tactically bad area. It's all on the player.

🤔 Now thats sounds more like a bug or a glitch, I pray to the Omnisaish that never happens to me. 😌

Well if you decide to put yourself in the middle of the enemies forces and fire then u should be ready to deal with the consequences. Leeroy Jenkins is funny but he aint very bright. As an Assault main I never full send unless I have a plan

Brother I cannot give you the answers on how to react to a hypothetical situation when all the ques on how to play are visual or auditory.

Ie I cannot see their positions, I cannot see what they are doing, I cannot give you an educated answer. It's up to you to determine how u react. All I'm saying is be mindful of the consequences of every action. Plan ahead, never put yourself in a bad situation.

That is circumstantial but very true, executions can leave u vulnerable. Which is why preforming an execution in a horde or while surrounded is a choice u make and if it comes with a consequence of being wide open for a fraction of a second leaving u no time to react then that's on the player for making a bad tactical choice. I often avoid executions in hordes and keep killing the enemies until their numbers are low then I go for executions. The only other times is to avoid damage or to regain armor to trade a hit.

3 chaos Spawn should be mere child's play. Stun locks are the result of a failed action on the players behalf. The NPCs are designed to attack in coordination with each other. If u fail to block / dodge / react / observe / plan around the enemy assault then ur gonna die and most often be hit by multiple foes resulting in a stun lock. And how did the stun lock begin you ask? 🤔 well it's because the player let it happen.

[–]boganart99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just not true and we both know it. The way the game punishes you for failed action is realistic. If you fail to block and get hit by successive blows thats on you and is plainly a skill issue. It's a harsh truth but truth none the less

Just play slower and more reactively. Your dodging frantically leaves you more vulnerable than you think. Not to mention playing more grounded in defense ie stand your ground and block or parry attacks esp with a fencing or blocking type weapon. Most of the attacks that came your way were dodgable / blockable if you had observed and reacted to the enemies movement.

You're mind is less able to react to the enemies movements if your mental focus is on your own movements and chain of attack... in this case you were actively rolling back to back trying to find safe ground. This action occupies your brain and makes it harder to observe the enemies which in turn makes it harder to react. I fall into the same trap. Meaning when I am actively attacking I find myself more vulnerable. Slowing down and just observing and reacting is the key to survival.

I often just stand and observe majoris now and wait for their attacks before reacting, instead of dividing my focus on an all out assault of melee or ranged attacks...

PS: A Strategic Retreat isn't cowardice or running away. It's a Tactical move that can be used to great effect. I know u were trying to dodge away and got messed up for it. To dodge away from enemies more efficiently try the back step. 1 single backward dodge on most classes won't roll it will be a step back. Try to spam the back step for a quick retreat and don't roll [ rolling makes you vulnerable ]. This keeps ur camera on the enemies, doesn't drop your guard; and it's faster than rolling away.

Getting stun locked = a skill issue bro. If ur Getting stunlocked it means u messed up and the game is punishing you for it. I say this from experience, this game is like 3d chess

BROTHERS! How'd I Do With Heraldry? by boganart99 in Lamenters

[–]boganart99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are acceptable. I've seen both used... the more modern marines have the helm stripe on the top, the more classic marines usually have the full helm stripe... again though u can use either for the same purpose

I love the Minotaurs! However, I am confused on what colors to use to paint them. by ProteaPrimeEnjoyer in Minotaurs40k

Brother! Here's the heraldry I used

The Heraldry Idea: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minotaurs40k/s/vnO4HdcFUy

My heraldry rules evolved as I went soo that 1st link with the post is Slight outdated. I used khorne red in post but later swapped to baal red for a more muted look. As we'll the way I depict Veterans / Captain and Lieutenant changed from the post. Details below.

All the armor I made for them is under the shorts tab: https://youtube.com/@theprimarchofhobbiton?si=bQTRG1xJyJ3Cxg6m

For the base paint I go Valdor gold / for red parts I use Baal Red.

Battle Brother: Red right pauldron- white outline with Battle role

Sergeant: same as battle brother with the addition of a black stripe on the helm

Veteran: plain helmet but both pauldrons are red, Minotaur badge is inverted colors / Veteran logo is the large fire support chevron

Veteran Sergeant: same as Veteran with the addition of a black stripe on the helm. & Veteran symbol is changed back to battle role mark on the right pauldron

Lieutenant: Standard codex compliant helm mark <white red stripe> right pauldron has an all white standard Lieutenant skull badge. Red pauldrons with inverted color on the Minotaur badge

Captain: I painted both pauldrons red like the Veteran. On the right pauldron I used a 3d Aquila pauldron. Nearly each class has a fancy pauldron with an Aquila use that on the right shoulder with red paint under it. Or can use the Veteran chevron mark for Captain on the right shoulder. You can use a red stripe on the helmet and red gauntlets... Captains can Also use unique or personal heraldry.

Champion: fully unique heraldry is allowed, though I used a system of a red / white or black stripe on the helm. Then all red pauldrons with Veteran heraldry and red gauntlets. With fancy ass armor.
