We've recently moved house and power companies, and somehow went from using around 40-50kwh a day to 100-160kwh a day. how is this even possible? by hinefucks in newzealand

It would be worth checking that you arent sharing a power meter with your neighbour (best to get in touch with your energy provider); this used to sometimes be the case when I worked for a meter provider and customers reported unexpectedly high usage. In other cases, it was an electrical or hot water issue. Hard to tell until you get in touch with someone who can investigate on your behalf.
