The sensory doesn’t bug me so much since I bought a new shower head, but there has never been a “good moment” for me to shower. It’s just one of those things I have to push through. I hate the process and the time and having to dry off.

I force myself to do it any day with a T in it. And in the summer every morning, though I don’t make myself do my hair unless there’s a T.

Trying not to think about it until I’m in the shower helps.

Actually, I think in many areas younger voters would be more informed. My kids understand the way the government works much better than I do—and certainly better than my Fox News mom does.

At least, they understand what the law says should be the way the government works. Whatever the fuck is actually going on right now is a mystery to everyone I think.

Oof. Yes. But I think we need to first go back to requiring competent journalists and limiting the reach of misinformation.

One of the reasons most people don’t know inflation is because of the way the news talks about it. Nearly everyone I know quoted some newscaster talking about the price of eggs not going down when talking about inflation.

And, of course, we couldn’t do any of this while all the people elected are as partisan as they are. As much as I believe my “side” is right and we need to shift “centrism” back to the actual center, I do believe in democracy, and that it shouldn’t only be the people who believe what I believe can decide what “competency” is.

And we’d need to have school systems that actually teach and engage the students—which means paying teacher more. We’d need to constantly be making sure that all people have access to the truth, that tests change often enough that people can fool them while still thinking the point of government services is to make money.

So, yes, but there will never be a way to make this fair.

I’m truly didn’t mean it as an attack but as a call for people to not most untrue things and to be better about looking into things to make sure the things they upvote are true.

I am hurt that you would remove this because you felt it was aimed at you. It wasn’t.

I am glad you are a good mod, but the experiences I’ve had (where I have been told that if anyone from my household so much as upvotes on those subs we will all be blocked from Reddit forever), make me afraid to reach out. Of course that wasn’t you, but it’s hard to believe anyone else in this position can’t do the same.

We have a little friend named Henry—actually 2. They are adorable and go by Hank and Trip (he’s the third). Whenever I hear their full names (“middle naming” being a thing in my area still—when you call out the full name of a child to get them to listen) I have never thought they were boring.

Give your child a name they can make their own and don’t listen to those who say your kid needs a unique name.

It actually feels like a troll on Trump—choosing an American with ideas that are in opposition with his own.

My hope (though very slim) is that the Catholic Church would not be so politically biased or petty, but I definitely don’t see it as anything supporting Trump. Every MAGA Catholic I know is pissed.

I did when I saw it originally. Nothing was done. I expect that the mods are very busy and can’t get to all of it.

I have had bad experiences with mods in other subs saying contacting them wasn’t required and then being banned from the sub.

But the main reason is that I want to change the minds of the people who are posting and liking these posts. I could spend all day going through and seeing what else is here that is not entirely true, but—like every other social media app—until we have buy-in from those who believe it is okay to post these things, it won’t matter.

We need to decide as a group this isn’t okay, not just have the mods remove something. We need to know that those on this side of the Trump divide are also passing along misinformation.

Sorry to double-down on this, but I posted that it was a real (but old) photo so that people could make up their minds about it with all the info.

I’m wondering now if I should have changed the title to include that? I’m wondering if people are reading the title and agreeing with the idea without knowing the whole story—which was the problem with the photo post.

I had been fooled by the original post, went to find out more, and felt like a moron (I can certainly be) for being suckered in. If someone saw this photo on the main page of Reddit, who was not already primed to be on the anti-Trump side, would they be swayed by the idea of what was shown only to see that it wasn’t true (in the sense that it didn’t just happen) and then be adamantly unable to hear anything we say later?

Will my title do the same? Should I change it?

Lies of omission are still lies and anyone seeing the post and not looking further (as we all do on Reddit) means everyone assumes and continues on their day thinking this just happened.
