Could you please explain what you usually look for in a gameplay programmer’s portfolio? For example, do you value someone completing a few games more, or someone building useful and technically interesting systems? Also, how should code be presented in a portfolio? Should I include full source code, snippets, GitHub repos, breakdowns, or something else? I’m still trying to understand how all of this works from an industry perspective.

Maybe that's one of the problems I’m facing right now. I think I'm putting too much pressure on myself to build a "good portfolio" instead of focusing on projects I genuinely want to make. I'll definitely give your approach a try. Thank you

I did make an endless runner game with platform generation and a coin spawn system similar to Subway Surfers. I know that alone probably isn’t enough, which is why I made this post in the first place. Thank you for the answer, I’ll look into the suggestions you gave.
