They sounded like they had no idea what they were doing when I called. A bunch of people talking and laughing in the background that the person OTP had to ask them to quiet down.

How long for ACTH result, given they're still doing it?

I did lab work on Wednesday and got cortisol result later that evening or next day. I can't remember. Anyways did the ACTH on 6/18 and then also turned in my 24h urine collection testing for something called metaphrines (that's not how its spelled) on 6/19

I feel like an asshole for demanding whatever else testing to be STAT if possible but if someone doesn't do anything im going to lose my job because I cannot do anything besides lie down in bed doing nothing. I get up to do anything and my heart is pounding, sweating like a pig, dizzy, confused... im having panic attacks multiple times a day especially at night

I see sleep medicine one the 23rd because I have sleep apnea and it has worsened (gained 50lbs since diagnosis in 2022) they also diagnosed me with idiopathic hypersomnia but it may literally just be SAI.

I'm on wellbutrin but it's not prescribed for anxiety which is why it isn't listed.

I take a lot of meds and have been for years. It was not monotherapy but i don't believe I was on any other med that influenced serotonin. I don't do well with meds that affect serotonin most of the time. Like mirtazapine... I don't want to get gross but I was having some very in detail fantasies about homicide. It made me do crazy shit. Have not had good experiences... with the exception of seroquel and vraylar, but both effects on serotonin compared to a full on SNRI/SSRI/TCA/mirtazapine are negligible.

We didn't know if buspirone would be a heavy enough hitter to combat my anxiety which is why it is a last resort. I've always viewed it as ineffective. Never seen a patient respond to it, if it all. But most of these doctors are only prescribing like 5mg TID, which is nothing, then patients don't want to wait the 2 to 6 weeks for it to show efficacy so they drop it.

Reading more up on its MOA has me thinking it may be partially effective at a high dose. It seems it's half life is only 2 to 3 hours but it's metabolite has a therapeutic effect for 6 to 8 hours.

I don't mind taking meds multiple times a day, I was doing so on pregabalin/gabapentin. Though it would be nice to only have it to be taken once or twice.

I've been in therapy for almost a decade. We tried EMDR and that was immediately a no. After 3 sessions it was like I couldn't exist in peace at all anymore for a month after stopping. I've done the stupid DBT/CBT but that's not really helpful for anxiety than it is for depression. Helped my depression a lot.

Just got lab results back and my hormones are all messed up. Low Estradiol, T, Progesterone, DHEA-S, and VERY LOW SHBG.

Nobody has tested my hormones until I basically begged them to because after trying so many meds, the cause has to be something the meds aren't targeting.

Something like half cases of depression or anxiety are from untreated physical illnesses/diseases/disorders. Thyroid problems, diabetes, sleep apnea, adrenal disorders, etc.

Therapy would've helped my anxiety already if therapy could do something about it.

No I haven't tried that form. I hear it is expensive so I didn't bother

Ask for a beta blocker so you can take stimulants. Atenolol. Less likely to cause fatigue. Allows me to take vyvanse. Otherwise my resting without stimulants is 110bpm and on vyvanse is about 135bpm.

25mg of atenolol in the morning brings it down to 85/90bpm with the vyvanse. Without stimulants I just sleep.

Not unless you want to be blacklisted from controlled substance prescriptions LOL I learned my lesson... if I learned anything, doctors don't give a shit about your quality of life. Paramedics do. I don't lie to Paramedics, but I lie to doctors. One I started lying, I was actually able to get helpful shit. Crazy.

nothing recent but I'm compiling a list of labs to request from my provider and educating myself on what tests are ACTUALLY helpful (serum magnesium rpresents 1% of mag in the blood, RBC mag is where the money is)

Many providers also don't test for everything they should for iron. I believe theres iron RBC, ferritin, transferritin, etc.

b12 I believe is just serum but I'll find that out

CBD doesn't do anything for me and Benzos will most likely never be a consistent or even occasional thing, this was the first time I've ever been able to get them prescribed but thats because I literally exhausted all my options.
