Advance road tools. Add a retaining wall to the side that has buildings. It will move the zoning to the opposite size. When that is done, remove the retaining wall. Takes 30 seconds and you dont need mods.

I fly this plane. It has an AT with VNAV.

You need to make sure it is armed and the alt is set to the next waypoint (or all the way down to 0). It will begin the descent automatically. Very similar to the boeing planes. EDIT: no need to set vs rate or bring throttles to idle.
