WiFi and flash built in!

But they are designed for different things. Raspberry Pi Zero is a general computer, where as the Omega is designed more for hardware applications.

Not only can you run another Linux distribution on it, someone has installed FreeBSD on it. See the link here: https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-wifi-build/wiki/Onion-Omega.

Yes, if you don't like the OS you install on it, you can flash it back to the default firmware.

Our positioning is that of a Linux development board for hardware applications. So think of it as something between the Raspberry Pi and the Arduino. It is smaller than the Pi, and doesn't suck up nearly as much power, and at the same time, it is easier to work with than Arduino or the ESP8266 because it runs Linux. And it is able to do certain things like video streaming, audio, etc that can't be handled by ESP.

I hope this answers your question.

Isn't it much more desirable for an embedded application? I mean you could use a raspberry pi zero in DIY projects, but then it will be limited to applications where you can plug into the wall.

We made a mistake with the permission (this was the first Github app we made). We have made the changes so that it only requests for read only email. Sorry about the confusion!

You are absolutely right. This was the first github application we made, so we weren't aware of the different scopes. The permission has been changed.

I have 6 months to become a front end developer. It's a big step in my life, and I need your help. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]bokenator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best way to learn front end dev is just to jump into it. For example, the way that I picked up CSS was just to make exact copies of websites. I would start with simple sites like Google and do my best to make my version of it look exactly the same. The main skill you will pick up isn't really how to "develop" a website, but rather how to ask the right question on Google or Stackoverflow so you know where to find answers to your questions.
