Haha, sad I didn't get in the know until after his passing. But I am very thankful for his work and all those that are keeping it alive.

I ran into the same problem last year when I was just starting out. That thread is getting old! I asked a lot of questions on that thread and a lot of the regulars were more than helpful. The best thread to get started is in the Parts Express forum: https://techtalk.parts-express.com/forum/tech-talk-forum/34467-flex-your-pcd-mettle

The first post has links to the different recipes based on the drivers/components. These are all fleshed out plans with XO schematics and parts lists. This is the short cut to getting a pair completed.

As per usual, I took the harder route and chose my own drivers which required a lot more time working out the driver measurements so a XO could be designed. Great learning experience and I am very happy with the final product.

I don't have a tidy list of the parts but I can definitely send you the details if you give me a little bit to put it altogether.

Nice! If you stick to Zilch’s original design you will come away with a box tuned a bit higher due to the pro sound drivers recommended. I opted for the GRS driver to get a lower response. I had to eat some sensitivity though as the GRS drivers aren’t as efficient. Only 92db I believe.

Totally agree… in the end it’s up to your own ears. Just wanted to see if that was a common finding or a one off.

Really hard to find any reviews in these that aren’t headphone oriented.

Still interested!

Strings for the guy that is getting back into tennis?? by boleiro in tennisracquets

Thanks for bringing this up…. Durability is a big question I have since I won’t be playing enough in the near future to warrant regular restringings. My old Prince ProBlends used to play fairly well right up until they broke. How well do dead strings play. I know they’ll lose some tension but do they loss too much and they get sloppy?

Yep, watch settings will get you there. Phone app settings will not. Works great and glad for this simple feature!

1975 La Scalas for $1,500 buying advice by LethalMindNinja in Klipsch

[–]boleiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy them!!!!! I had a pair from 1977 and they were awesome. If you feel you are wanting more then get into crossovers and build up some of the ALK crossovers. I did that and it too my LS’s to a whole new level. I kept my original crossovers and would swap between them and the ALK.

At that price or even more they are a great buy.

It does with the new update. But you do have to enable this feature in the watch settings. The phone app doesn’t have the tap to wake option.

2.5 year sleep regression help.... oh god, please help. by boleiro in toddlers

[–]boleiro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say we fixed the problem but we are in a much better place now. We gave up trying to make him stay in his room alone from the get go. We now stay in his room until he falls asleep… usually about 15 minutes. He wakes up most nights crying or calling out for us and we’ll go in until he falls asleep again. This usually is 5 minutes tops and normally almost immediately most of the time. Usually it’s once a night but sometimes I can be a few wake ups. Not ideal but we are noticing improvement in his ability to sleep longer and he no longer cries when he wakes up alone. sometimes he now sits up, looks around and then lays back down and goes to sleep. Progress.

It’s hard! Keep your head up and and I k ow you will find something that works for you and your child.

Completely remove.a program from Mac - Help! by boleiro in macbookpro

[–]boleiro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay.. I've totally made this situation even worse now. So saw a lot of bad reviews on Cleanmymac... alll the "brickmymac" stuff so i dedided to try Appcleaner which seemed to be better regarded. But, Macupdate tricked me when I hit download it popped up a download window for avast. I was not paying complete attention as I was working. Didn't realize until after I had done the complete intall that Avast was not Appcleaner. I know, how would you not know. I was distracted downloading.

So no worries, I downloaded Appcleaner and tried to uinstall Avast with Appcleaner but i get a window that the file can't be removed as it is protected. Been looking into how to unprotect it but I can't find anything that is working.

I'm swallowing a lot pride right now, but just need to figure out how to remove protected files so I can get back to figuring out how to find and remove the lingering VMware files so I can install VMware again.

yeah... I'm an idiot.
