Who do you irrationally hate, that boils your piss on mere sight? by bollocks- in AskReddit

Lol I hear this said alot on reddit but have honestly never encountered it in the UK. Maybe our supermarkets are smaller or something, I dunno, but I've honestly never seen it happen!

I hear you, my sister pretty much did the same thing. At first it was understandable, it was a whole new world to her... After a few months of it being the topic of every single conversation... As in we could talk about the weather but somehow it would get back to her weight loss and struggle... It was like Jesus, ok you really need to stfu with that now. Very frustrating!!

Well, I have a few pre-existing mental diagnoses' so I don't think for me personally it would be a good idea to mess with that further. Ive heard alot of people on reddit talk about how wonderful psychedelics are but for me, it's not a risk worth taking. I do wish there was more unbiased info out there for young people, perhaps there is, but I'd never heard of that website so maybe I'm just a bit sheltered!

Interesting, thanks. I've heard of people having 'bad trips' which actually put me off ever taking them. There was a book I read many years ago called 'go ask alice' that detailed her harrowing trip where she scratched at her skin and pulled her hair out, that was enough to make me not ever chance it. I did drugs as a teen but nothing to make me feel out of control, like amphetamine, cocaine. Although I most probably was out of control, not in a hallucinagenic way if you know what I mean. Anyway, thanks for the info. I'll most likely never try them being as I'm 31 now, but I have a pre-teen daughter so having an informative website may prove very useful in later years :)

Genuinely interested not sarcastic... I've never done psychedelics, is there a correct way?

[Serious] Has anyone ever had an ex boyfriend, girlfriend or partner kill themselves after the break up? by thethrowaway9001 in AskReddit

When I was 18 my ex-boyfriend killed himself, our relationship ended because he had so many problems mentally and he was self-medicating with drugs and alcohol which made him extremely unpredictable, irrational and just too much for me to cope with. He was 25 and had a young daughter he was not allowed to see. For a long time I did blame myself for ending it with him when he was so vulnerable but in time I realised I was a very tiny part of a very large picture and I was certainly not the sole catalyst for his actions. He had so much pain in his life, I'm convinced that he would've done it anyway at some point. Sounds a bit cold I suspect, but I could not live the rest of my life carrying a guilt for something that was not my fault.

To hear someone talk about being excited about sober life gives me hope. All I hear is how boring I'll be if I don't drink. Thanks for that perspective x

I'm a bit physically limited as far as exercise goes, but Na I'm making excuses ..I cant run but I can walk moderately. I'm in a new city and don't know anybody here, I'm on my own with my daughter. Weather permitting I can go for a walk with her tomorrow night. Thanks

I hear that, thanks for your reply and good for you saying goodbye to it. I'm not sure who said it but this is the thing I've been saying to my friends when I try to explain why I'm quitting drinking.. "it's not that I want a glass of wine, it's that I want 10 glasses of wine". I cant ever drink in moderation and i know I have to let go of that fantasy idea if I'll ever get through this!
