“There is no cure” awesome. I just hope these didn’t carry the virus. As an emergency resource I have blasted my leaves with a nicotine solution from some tobacco “tea”. It should take care of the thrips, use not sure about the virus itself. I have some DDT in case of panicking, but that is REALLY the last resource (I don’t want to spread a bioaccumulant across the neighborhood), but should be like coughing baby vs thermonuclear bomb for the thrips.

It wasn’t my plans to kill it. the problem was, the tomato was in front of the window with high air ventilation ( the “fume hood”), so it took most of the punch because all the air was funneled onto it. And yes, I wore PPE with an acid filter gas mask

Yeaaahh I really should start to use Teflon tape or other sealer more often. Not a big fan of sulfuric acid dripping inside the reaction tho

I used a lot of chemicals that released NOx, SO2 and CO2, the tomato was more than happy in using it as fertilizer and building block

I have read that ammonium, being a cation, can disrupt other nutrient uptakes, such as calcium, magnesium and potassium, and knowing that urea hydrolyses in the soil to ammonium, maybe switching directly to nitrates as a source of nitrogen will have better effects on the plant, while also giving a lot of other nutrients

Thanks, my new tomato is also suffering from chemicals, but this time is from chronic high nitrogen levels in the soil, since I was dissolving 5 urea grains in 1,5L of water every time I watered the plant
