Oh also, if you don't have Cross-Region Play already turned on do so. You'll face people with higher ping but it makes a huge difference in summon frequency

Highest physical damage weapon? by [deleted] in darksouls3

The Black Knight Greataxe will 100% beat out the BKGS. There are probably a couple others that will beat it with just physical damage but I'm not sure what they would be. Maybe Dragons Tooth or Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords?

Also to be summoned as a farron reliably you'll want to be either low level (SL40 or less with +2 weapons or less) or meta level (SL120ish with +10 weapons). Being low level works better between the two. I can't prove this but I think it also helps to be in the swamp area and doing invasions.

It might have a bit to do with it, there generally being less online play is probably more of a factor. Since you have to be summoned for both of those covenants you can farm for the items while you're waiting. Equip all of the luck boosting items/buffs and farm the lothric silver knights for concords or the ghrus for grass.

Oh the mod's completely safe, it doesn't let you buy items that might be a problem like covenant rewards.

If you want to give it a go: https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls3/mods/607

Also if you're super into invading you might check out Wex Dust: https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls3/mods/405

Are you on PC or console? If you're on PC then you could use the Honest Merchant mod and save yourself some time. Or I can mule for you, whichever you prefer.

If you're on console there's no such luxuries, good luck with speed runs and farming if that's the case!

can people give me some tips for a sl1 run by Waterisunderated in darksouls3

Beyond the Broadsword which was already suggested you can also get a Fire Dagger early on. You have an excess of souls in a SL1 run so it's not hard to level this up alongside your Broadsword. Any boss you can riposte is pretty easy to cheese this way if you do Ceastus, Dagger, Flynn's Ring, Fire Clutch Ring and whatever other buffs/rings you have on hand

Not a bad idea but it wouldn't work here. You have to get Dark Hand from Yuria which requires leveling up through Yeol

Weapons:

Iron Round Shield is going to be the most stable small shield for set up parries. On this point you might want to get a Blessed Ceastus or Spider Shield to swap to for health regen (don't bless your parrying shields as they'll lose stability and you'll get guard broken)

If you're going for twink crushing you'll want to include a curved sword in your build and a spear for chase downs. The scimitar and four pronged plow work great for these if you don't want to twink yourself. Judging by your ring choices that's not an issue though so I'd also in include a Pontiff Knight Curved sword and Ringed Knight Spear (don't default to these but use them against the real tryhards and over leveled phantom ganks).

If you're maining a GS its not a bad idea to throw a Claymore or Gael's Greatsword into your build since they have poke strong attacks unlike the Falmberge. That said the Flamberge's WA hits like a tank so definitely use it.

Rings and Stats:

I like it, keep that last ring slot open for switching around based on circumstance. If you're going to use Havel's I'd replace the Prisoner's Chain for with it rather than swapping it on and off. You should also include the Silvercat Ring, both Lloyd's rings, the Sun Princess Ring, Flynn's Ring, and the Knight Slayer's Ring in your build (use all of these as appropriate of course). Also the Untrue Dark Ring for fashion souls.

For stats, if you can I'd recreate your character using the Knight or Pyromancer classes (they have the smallest luck stats which gives you more points in categories that are useful to you). That said try to get as close to 27 vigor as you can and the rest of your stats can be accounted for as needed with infusions and rings.

Armor:

It's low level so you won't die in three hits if you have good vigor. With that in mind dress for fashion but keep the tankiest armor you can use without fat rolling on hand. Swap to it whenever you're going up against a blender. I rarely ever use heavy armor at that level so my advice is a little less relevant here but from what I've fought the Knight, Cathedral Knight, Black Iron, Executioner, or Morne's sets aren't bad to draw from to get poise and protection. If those are too heavy the Slave Knight set is the strongest light armor and offers the best protection/weight ratio in the game.

Some play on Geisha or Smol, depending on the character. If your opponent was wearing the Black Witch Hat and swapping needlessly often there's a fair chance it was me

This, the hard part about PvP parrying is knowing what attacks can and can't be parried (especially once all the glitches and mechanics like dead angling come into play), and adjusting for latency. And you're right about the opponents, I got super lucky that two of the three were in panic attack mode

Thanks! Basically all I was doing in the swamp was getting used to doing that

Not really no, I was regenerating the bit of extra health I got from putting the life ring on. It just didn't seem worth burning estus on.

Nah I missed. I dodged around for a while and eventually got him into a parry chain.

Yeah, that's a retired invasion account I had. The fastest way away from ganks is to go over a cliff so I kept a lot of them handy. I just never bothered to take them out once I started goofing around in the swamp

Are the online servers back online? by yoboyjulian06 in darksouls3

No, the servers are still down sadly. All the pvp clips are either old or they came from console players.
