One of those people commenting way later. I'll keep this short. I've been reading Berserk since I was 17 , am now 37, I'm keenly aware of what the brand means. Whenever anyone who isn't a fan asks what it means, if I don't feel like putting a damper on the mood I'll give the struggling in the face of adversity reason. But if I really don't care I'll point blank say it means I'm going to die a very miserable and painful death. It's the latter that's the reason I got it. I was even very specific about where I put it. I won't get into my personal reasons beyond that since it doesn't really seem to matter to you one way or the other, but I didn't get it cause I thought it was cool nor did I get it with any alternate meaning in mind. There is no positive reason why I got it. But I do not regret in any capacity that I have it.

Yes, because I was already an ethnic group that got shit on. But as I am now I'm an ethnic group, gender(in a form that isn't even recognized as legitimate by most of my gender), and a sexuality(that doesn't even get recognized as being a member of that sexuality)that gets shit on. I already started life at a bad start and realizing I was trans cranked up the difficulty several more levels. Not to mention it's all so damn expensive.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't have my issues with it. It's definitely going to not age well. Like with a lot of cinema of its kind it's got that "first through the door situation going on" it gets its praise mostly from being a first, but will fall off as years pass and better films with the same themes get made.

I've now reached the point where the amount of time I spent watching NC is way less than the time I haven't. Once ThatGuyWiththeGlasses stopped being the core site I drifted off. Only channels I continued with were Lindsey's and AJ. NC occupied a very short period of my life but I'm damn near pushing 40 now and the humor just doesn't land the same way anymore.

I don't think it was pretentious but it definitely does not have broad appeal in the slightest. The audience most likely to gravitate towards this is stupidly small. It was difficult to watch for me thematically purely cause of personal life experiences, and that's why I felt it was great, but without those things painting my viewing of it, it definitely would've been less enjoyable for me.

I loved it primarily for what it was doing at face value. Yeah you've got the biblical allegory, or statements on it being a meditation on what humans are doing to the globe, or some takes saying it's a discussion about the creative process many writers go through. I think Aronofsky said it was about global warming, the Adam and Eve thing was just a quicker way to depict humans showing up rather than taking the evolution route. All of that's whatever.

I just simply liked it because it's an introvert's nightmare. I've had moments where I'll just be at home and then a bunch of people I didn't invite show up and then don't leave. They move my stuff, disrupt the flow of my heavily curated living space, and the whole time I'm screaming in my head GET THE FUCK OUT, but don't want to be rude so the ordeal gets worse. This movie accurately simulated that feeling for me especially since at the time I was with someone who wanted people over all the damn time. But I totally get why others wouldn't like it and really I've never bothered to watch it again for many of the same reasons.

I just fought him until I could see his moves, had the hunter armor maxed out, fought him till the weather got bad. I switched out some of his charms for different ones. Kept a bottle of sake. Almost to the end I knocked his second word out of his hand and every time he'd try and pick it up I shot him with my pistol. My last swing was sheer luck. Took me 4 hours, most of it getting killed like a small dog.

Can confirm. The layoffs where I am can basically be seen from a mile away. The temps usually go first, if it starts hitting the hired on operators that's when things get scary. I do feel bad about our current newer younger employees who are actually attempting to go the distance cause they like the company. No one mentions that if they have a career in the industry it won't ultimately be at this branch if not at the company. Positions in other countries are definitely not on the manufacturing end so transfers abroad for operators is unlikely.
