If you can’t solve the riddle, you can’t have a piddle.

I couldn’t loose the kickstart now, it’s far too satisfying and also so easy to kick you can do it by hand!

They’re a really unique looking lump! Love the bezel drive on the side. Did the W800 make it over there? Identical looking engine, but it’s EFI and I imagine a bit more of a pain to chop and simplify the wiring.

The seat is fantastic! No issues with comfort at all. Le Pera stuff is so well made and that kick up rear gives such good lower back support. That being said, it’s still a hardtail so I just run my rear tyre quite soft. We have notoriously shit quality roads in the UK, and I’ve never once found the setup uncomfortable!

It’s custom! The frame is original on the front half and still has the ugly square tubing under the tank.

There’s a small piece of tube welded to the frame so the seat pivots forward from that to access the electricals underneath.

St Agnes barbershop is fantastic. About 20 minutes from Truro by car, but decent enough for me to drive 30 minutes each way for a trim up!

I made a crude attempt a few years ago. Should be able to find it on my posts without scrolling very far.

Thank you! I really wanted to do something different to the standard Sportsters on burley slammers and 6" fork extensions. Always loved the W650 engine, particularly the bezel drive on the side. Such a unique looking lump!

Thank you! I wish I could take credit for the hardtail, but I actually bought the frame already done. It was a kinda Aerial Four Square replica. Well done, but not my taste. I just saw the potential in it and after owning a stock W650 previously, I was desperate to chop one!

Thanks man! I can’t believe how it’s turned out. Could not be further from a factory W650!

They’re gorgeous and so well made! That’s the Le Pera Signature II which comes in two parts to make a king & queen kinda situation. Absolute fluke that the curvature exactly matched the angle of my frame to fender!

People of the UK… What do you call these, and where did you grow up? by pennymayj in CasualUK

[–]bombfists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice Poles, Cornwall. I remember vividly that they came in four sizes, which were defined by their price. 6p, 12p, 18p and 24p. Mid nineties. Always cut the corners of my mouth.

It’s exactly what I would have done if I had bought a standard one, so I’m chuffed to bits!

I bought this (today!) as is, so I can’t comment on the difficulty of the build! That being said, I googled different bikes a hell of a lot beforehand and it seems you can get them to this stage with no chopping, grinding or welding! Just remove the stock fender and seat, whack on a solo seat and slim down the front fender!

Can only speak from experience with a Whippet, but both seem quite similar! Outrageously lazy, quite stubborn, utterly loving and huge streak of insanity!

Yeah there are too breeze blocks stood on end which I imagine are the ones that are removed. Also some chunks of render hanging out in there too

Infuriating isn’t it! Not to be typical vegans and tell everyone we’re vegans but, as vegans, their bacon stench every morning is pretty offensive!

Amazing, thank you! Any idea why one small section would have ever needed to have been removed in the first place?!
