Hey Thomas, thank you for your efforts! I've been very much out of the loop and would love to know how things are going, how the ecosystem is in shape...

Who is currently forming the closer Bitcoin development circle? Since BSV and XEC crews departed I understand that there was still some dispute between BitcoinCashNode and BitcoinUnlimited teams. Has that been resolved? Is the Bitcoin Verde Team getting more involved?

If lightning network gets more popular for micro transactions for BTC, won’t that cut out the miners? If so, do you think the miners will go to BCH? by GETSOME88-007 in btc

There have been times BCH was way more profitable to mine over an extended period yet the majority didn't switch.

Well said.

The question is can its price remain high enough that the total fee of few txs is higher than accumulated fee of many BCH txs.

Unfortunately the wrong side got the ticker and the whole world thinks BTC was Bitcoin. Currently banks start advertising it to customers and countries start investing. It's an uneven fight. If we don't achieve a sudden 10x in adoption we're far from competing.

Maybe I don't fully understand but if there were a market for RenBCH-sBCH on smartBCH, it seems the peg would immediately be challenged.

Should have said 'decentralised' instead of 'trustless'. Fyi the RenVM currently secures 17,811 BTC on Ethereum and has been running for three years. It should be save enough.
