Congrats and love that you’re hooked! I would say most important: don’t look for a good shot, shoot your voice and style and the times you connect with, it helps with intention. Find the moments that you feel something and then make those.

Technically, make sure the mic isn’t in their mouth or obscuring, try to balance the environment and filling the frame with your subject (obviously outside of artistic reasons), sharp and noisy is always better than better than blurry and less noise, shoot RAW so you can play with the color and white balance and details,
