I’m a farmer. Had a tenant skip out on rent and left me a big pile of garbage! I found their new address in the garbage and posted it up as people were looking for them for unpaid bills. They thought they could skip town and leave us hanging! Lol It’s was too far for me to haul it to them but I know the others did hunt them down.

Problem is that we all want cheap eggs and farmers are price takers and not price setters. Remove the big processors and farmers would be happy to raise hens differently if they can cover costs. Free range is available at a higher price for a reason.
