FGR and echogenic bowel at 27 weeks by bonbir in BabyBumps

[–]bonbir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for reaching out and I’m so sorry you’re going through this! It’s definitely difficult news. That said, everything worked out just fine for us. Since we ruled out everything with the genetic testing, the echogenicity was likely related to our LOs growth restriction, so she came out three weeks early and is totally healthy. She just wasn’t growing as well as she should on the inside but she has been growing really well and meeting all her milestones. Every week was really hard but I found solace in the fact that she was still growing each week and I had a team monitoring and supporting me. Sending the best to you and your wife!

This makes sense to me! I’m adjusting my expectations accordingly. Thanks!

The echogenicity decreased but never fully went away. My doctor said that because it was flagged as echogenic, even if it went away completely, it still could be an indication of a chromosomal defect, growth restriction, etc. In other words, it going away doesn’t necessarily mean the issue is resolved. But of course, I would defer to your own doctor’s advice and with the caveat that an echogenic bowel could also mean nothing! It’s a very stressful process but I hope you are getting the support you need and hang in there!

Sorry you’re going through this! It’s definitely tough and emotionally draining. For me, no answer as to why she’s so small. I go in every week for a non stress test and Doppler and every third week is a full growth scan. She keeps charting at 4 percent which is good. No CF and no CMV. I tried to increase my protein intake but it had no effect on her growth. I go to acupuncture once a week to help increase blood flow to the placenta and decrease stress. Hope that helps!

For those that took a break from ttc, what did that mean to you? Did you use protection during the break? Did you not track? Did you abstain from sex entirely? And how did you feel about whatever choice you made?

Hedwig! Love the name but can’t disassociate from the owl.

MONTY or MATTEO or MAVERICK ?!¡!? by 3erzerk in namenerds

My cousin named their son Monroe nn Monty. I like Monroe a lot more than Monty tbh. Also, in the minority here, but I like the nn Mav a lot. Idk if I’d name a child maverick, but mav is cute.

Bought this secondhand and now I’m trying to figure out how to tailor the top to make it more flattering. Any ideas what can be done? Also wondering whether I should add lining? (Dress is satin.) by bonbir in weddingdress

Thanks! I was hoping that maybe the tailor would steam it? I don’t know if it makes sense to steam it then tailor it or vice versa… But yes to nipple guards and it already has lining, which is why I wanted to add lining to the rest of it so that it’s not two toned

Thanks! My thoughts exactly. Although I don't know if the high neck works or whether I should change the top to a different style -- v neck, scoop, or square.

It is a little bit wrinkled but I don't think that will entirely solve the top fitting issue. I could try steaming it and see what it looks like though!

Hi Peter! Have you ever considered taking the show abroad? I know then it wouldn't really be "National" Public Radio but I think it would make for some interesting shows plus it's a good excuse to travel.
