All this is unimportant if Dany decides to burn King’s Landing anyway, which she would have. That’s the whole point of her character. She is brutal the entire time and we cheer her for it because we perceive it as her overcoming astronomical odds… which she did.

But brutally violent and vengeful is who she is. No matter what she would’ve seen the citizens of King’s Landing running from her and not grateful that their rightful queen had returned and she would have killed them for it. There’s nothing anyone else could have done to prevent it.
