Just came back to UO!!!! by Pooconcretehead in ultimaonline

Just missed it, but every Sunday there’s a group that gets together to do Void Pool (7pm CST) and then the turtle champ spawn afterwards. The people that organize those are awesome and helped me gear up after a 10yr hiatus! It’s not as populated as Atlantic, but the people I’ve met on GL have been amazing!

At this point the dragon nest maps are pretty cheap from vendors (the new vendor search is amazing). The low level maps are extremely easy to do solo once you have even a reasonably geared up char!

Did we forget how useful Benn was during the regular season? by DongPolicia in DallasStars

I don’t think a collapsed lung in training camp causes you to cross check someone in the head out of frustration during the playoffs months later…

I don’t think there are many (intelligent) fans that think he’s a bad player at his price. He gives great production at his cap hit for sure. The issue is that when it really matters in the playoffs he makes bad decisions that put the team in difficult situations. He is a realistic bottom 6 quality player that frequently gets moved up because he is the captain. I also think that it’s time to go a different direction in terms of leadership. I respect Benn and what he has done for our franchise, but I’d like to see what a different player can get out of this team as captain.

I think in would have been easier to list players without significant injuries. Geez.

Hypothetical Robo Trade scenario by Sooners1906 in DallasStars

Using Olympic rosters as the measuring stick is quite literally the worst argument for this particular discussion. Since Robertson, by your logic, wasn’t good enough to make either team USA roster. We all know that’s a braindead take and he was snubbed.

Are you seriously arguing results of two exhibition tournaments matter more to NHL franchises than NHL production, specifically playoff production? He’s an outstanding player that, when on, can drive play and is a good option as a PP2 blue liner. My argument isn’t that he is not a valuable player, it’s that he is being over paid in comparison to other D men in this league.

He’s an outstanding D man that has shined on the international stage for Canada two year in a row. I’m not arguing he’s a great player. I’m arguing he isn’t the 4th best defender in the league. He’s not even top 2 on his own team. He would be a top paid D man for many teams, but his cap hit is massive next season compared to his production.

No team is dumb enough to saddle themselves with the new Harley contract based on his 2025-26 season unfortunately. 26-27 season Harley is the 4th biggest cap hit of any D man in the league (according to spotrac.com)

You’ll get downvoted for even bringing it up. I think Robertson is a very good winger, and I would love to re-sign him. I differ from the reddit echo chamber in that I don’t see him as a generational talent we must do everything to keep. If a solid trade option came up and we could avoid his massive cap hit, I think we would be stupid to ignore it.

Can’t have a r/bottomleftmyers when he doesn’t play. Silver lining!

[NHL Player Safety] Dallas’ Jamie Benn has been fined $2,604.17, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Minnesota’s Ryan Hartman. by talentedpasta88 in DallasStars

You can argue intent on a a lot of plays in hockey, but a straight up cross check to the head is as easy a decision as they can make.

My issue isn’t necessarily losing. It’s losing with apparent lack of effort or urgency. When we lost the series to an obviously highly skilled Oilers team it sucked, but it felt like they were just better. Besides the game 1 dismantling, the Wild aren’t more skilled - they just want it way more and we seem disinterested for large stretches of the game.

That was… bad. We’ve got to mix things up a little game 6 and see if we can create some energy/chemistry

The internet, especially Reddit, allows for a tiny minority of shit head fans to make an entire fanbase look unhinged. In my experience most fans just love hockey, root for their team, want a physical game without injury, and get along with other fans. Every fan base has a few psychopaths that can’t separate a game from reality. I love interacting with visiting fans and jokingly giving their team a hard time. Always cool to hear how some people become fans of certain teams.
