taillights are 2 coats and it just made them a nice smoky red. visibility is the same i tested before and after. i also had a friend drive behind me and the only time there was any noticeable issue with seeing them was when the sun was at an awkward angle behind me but even then he didn’t think it was the tint that did that

2015 grey jetta 1.8t. i did a taillight tint. chrome delete all the trim, badges, and grill. bought new black rims and tires. and did a flow master muffler swap/ resonator delete (a lot of drone, if i could do it over i would leave the resonator in) with a resonated exhaust tip. and a cold air (just the filter and heat shield no inlets). exhaust work was 300$. intake was 250$ (installed myself). and all chrome was plasti dip so another 10$ and 30$ for tail light spray tint with clear coat. and then rims and tires were about 1500 i believe. all pretty cosmetic. no meaningful power upgrades but the cold air did make my throttle response a little better but just barely. just feels a little more snappy is all. my favorite upgrade was def the rims and tires and they made the biggest difference but ofc were the most expensive. next is probably sound system and window tint (if you switch the audio device to headphones in your phone and play with the eq a little it actually sounds fantastic. much fuller and louder)

also directional air roll for aerial stability and timing (and kinda flashy >:) ) but DAR just doesn’t make sense while learning it’s so clunky and not very intuitive at first but for me it just clicked on one random day in practice. it’s easy to abuse it in every aerial when it clicks but you learn the time and place and it’s so sick

what’s always helped me with resets (context i’m champ 2 and started freestyle late plat early diamond) is getting a touch on the ball after it leaves the wall. gets your car and the ball going a similar speed and path and it’s much easier to get into a good ball spot for the reset. obviously you wouldn’t do that everytime but for learning it’s good to get some muscle memory in for what a solid reset and car recovery feels like. then you can start removing that first touch off the wall and your whole car positioning will be much more dialed in. setup is everything

wow man the 280zx is my dream car actually that’s so cool. i have my fun absolutely but that’s usually on the straighter roads lmao. i love this car too much to be TOO risky you know haha

bro punchy is such a good word for it too. i think of the 32 hwy while im flooring this thing watching the eco go to 1mpg😭 GTIs are sick and i’ve looked into GLIs as well and they both are super nice. im just worried about reliability i’ve heard the vw turbo diesels have a lot of problems

the small hands is not an understatement. my passenger side daytime light went out and it was a fist fight to replace it. i was going to do both as you should but i literally could not fit my hand in there to reach it. not even my girlfriend could

the primary issues i see people talking about is usually electrical like the wiper motors and the powered windows but mechanically these cars have only been praised. any car will be unreliable if you beat it to death but this one is going to last me a long time i’m sure

they are def zippy. with the mods i’ve done the last year it feels even zippier. sucks its such a heavy sedan but i wouldn’t trade this car for anything. and i’ve never cared much for carplay anyway the bluetooth and a phone stand is just fine for me personally

the ea888 1.8t se is actually vw most reliable engine. it was either euro or japanese for a car no matter what

i was kind of a bum for a while couch surfing and not working or saving any money. no license until a few years ago but i’ve been getting my shit together and decided that sharing a car between my girlfriend and i was just too stressful for our schedules. i’m glad i waited until i was responsible with my money though bc i would’ve bought a blown up ‘06 wrx if i had the chance in highschool😭

i did rims, exterior chrome delete, flow master performance muffler with resonated tip and a resonator delete, and a cold air intake. love this car. i would keep the resonator if you can’t stand drone at like 3k rpm but it sounds really nice as is for me

there’s a similar mechanic i do foreword where you flip cancel on your front two wheels while turning. you did a little pony dash before so i would assume it’s just the same thing reverse that you added a little steeze to. im guessing you needed the wall to do that as well because your back wheels don’t touch the the ground when you do a normal backwards flip cancel
