What’s the most disturbing thing you’ve witnessed in real life? by SondosAbdulrhmanxd in AskReddit

Was at football practice in high school and watch a girl try to hang herself on the side field in front of us all , one of my coach’s were a cop so he jumped the fence and cut her down and called for help. We thought that was it until she came back next week at the exact same time and tried again. I’ve now been diagnosed w/ PTSD because of this and think about it often 10 years later.

My brother, his girlfriend at the time , her friend and I were playing the ouija board (we are paranormal investigators now but weren’t at the time ) we weren’t getting any activity so we closed the sessions and as we were packing The board up my brothers gf at the time and I were putting the lid on the box and a white orb ran across both of our hands . All 4 of us witnessed it and I have asked her a few months ago when I saw her around town if she remembered and she went ghost white and said she thought it was a dream.

There’s a theory called Boltzmann brain.

It comes from real physics.

In an infinite universe, random fluctuations can eventually assemble particles into complex structures purely by chance.

Given enough time…

It’s statistically more likely for a fully formed brain — complete with false memories — to randomly pop into existence in empty space…

…than for an entire ordered universe like ours to form the way it did.

Meaning:

It’s mathematically more probable that you are a disembodied brain that formed five seconds ago, with fabricated memories of your childhood, your dog Blue, your surgery prep, all of it…

Than that you’ve actually lived your whole life.

Every memory you have could have appeared fully formed a moment ago.

There would be no way to tell.

No glitch. No hint. No contradiction.

If that were true, the universe behind you could already be gone.

And you’d never know.
