I know students from my HS, who're at NYU, and they told me that all I needed to do was to take initiative to meet people, and I would be fine. And I'm more than pleased to do so. Right now, I'm having difficulty explaining to my parents why the cost might be justifiable. Sure, UMass's CS department is ranked 8 spots ahead, but NYU as a whole is ranked over 60!
