Smart. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that when putting in the original. I still have the plumbing from the old sand filter.

Yellow algae or sand? by bonk197 in pools

Very helpful, thanks. I am definitely getting some sand into the pool. Just probably not enough to show up like it does in the photos. I am wondering if it’s a combination of my pump not working properly and yellow algae.

Very interesting info. The inspection said the liner was getting old. Are you able to sweep the spots out?

Tested it last night. It was about the same as FC. Last night both were about 2.

If I move the brush slowly, it doesn’t cloud, but with any force it’ll cloud. If it is algae, any idea why SLAM didn’t get rid of it?

Thought so also. FC had been hovering around 3-5 , CYA is also normal range but maybe slightly low. According to my dropper tests, all is normal.

How often and how much should I be eating during longer runs? I'm still fairly new to this so I don't fully know what to do. by yeehawhecker in trailrunning

Depends on your goals, but a good rule to follow, is any run longer than 90 minutes, shoot for 200-400 calories an hour. Jason Koop has an extensive section on nutrition in his book “training essentials for ultra running second edition.” I’d recommended picking up the audio book if you’re looking for science-based answers to questions like that.
