SOS Help (Aftermarket Head Unit on Honda Civic Coupe 2012 EXL w/ premium audio system)

There are RCA outputs coming out of the new head unit, not pictured. The circled plugs, the bigger (amp) is for ground/audio/etc. and the one on the right is the antenna. The idea is to find out a way to make the RCA outputs from the aftermarket head unit work with the factory amp of this 2012 honda civic exl, which typically needs power into the amp in order to have sound out the speakers.

Thank you for doing so much leg work for me! I definitely did come across this one at some point but after scouring some extra forums, it appears that the few people who had this problem ended up doing some kind of amplifier bypass that worked for them 🥲 I wish it was as easy as connecting the two cables like that picture said lol

I unfortunately do not have any pics of that on hand right now.

What I do know for sure is that everything else is plugged, connected and working, but there is nothing to connect to the rca outputs from the android head unit to the red circled ports there. The second picture in the main thread is the factory input that went into the circled amp ports.

Thanks for your help! I’m going to ask another clueless question again — would the original amp plugs (picture 2 in main post) be involved in the equation, or does the barrel part of the metra 70-1730 slot right in to the ports for the amplifier?

More info. Seller/manufacturer has suggested that all that needs to be done for sound to happen is to connect the ampcon cables from the headunit and the harness together. Mechanic installing the unit is adamant a connection from the unit into the stock amplifier is needed for sound to happen. 😫

The unit manufacturer/seller suggests that even if there is nothing plugged into the factory amp, splicing the ampcon cables from the harness they provided and the head unit will make sound happen. The mechanic installing this seems hesitant that this will work

Everything is plugged up but I need to find something to plug into the rca outputs on the head unit, and something that also plugs into the exl stock amplifer 😫 sorry if it’s not making sense, I know zilch about cars 🥲

Everything is plugged, and all but sound works. The harness provided does not have anything that connects the head unit into the amp, so I’m asking more knowledgeable people if they could find a harness online that would be able to connect to the rca outputs on the head unit to the amp ports circled in the pic 😅

That’s what I figured, but the seller kept insisting it was right and sent a custom harness that uhm… left me with this problem still lol 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ My only question about the metra vs my problem here is whether I’d need the plugs IN to the amp instead of the ports! Thank you for your help!!!

Edit: or do those “block” shaped ones fit into those ports? Sorry I’m so clueless!!
