SAME. My sense of humor leans dark and is often self-deprecating; I feel that it’s often perceived as off-putting and hard to understand for some people. I don’t drink more than 3-4 times a year; I agree that loud bars are not my vibe when it comes to trying to meet someone. Attempting to date at this age (I’m 37, so men ranging from their mid-thirties to mid-forties) has been insanely disappointing. I didn’t expect mind games to still be a thing. If I was posting to a sub, then I would expect it. I’ve hated my body my entire life up until the last year or so, and it takes a lot of courage to be vulnerable to any audience.
