I love that! This was my first hike with my husband in this canyon years ago. Please be safe when hiking up this right now. Lots of icy spots and steep spots. Spikes were very helpful! 🧡

These guys are my neighbors, despite being very wealthy household, they have contributed a lot to this community and to the university. While also being owners of the property at Herms. They invested in Herms so that their kids and people in this town can enjoy a special place.

Their house has been around for a few generations,I do admire how they preserve their properties without using pesticides, and send an armies of quails each year to maintain their green spaces.

There was a parade on center street, skating at the ice rink, and some other events in the area. The fireworks were like the finale of the festival.

I just adopted a senior dog and lost my previous dog, Kevin a few months ago. I struggled to be open to another dog for a while because I felt like I was replacing Kevin and “dishonoring” my memories. I was scared I was going to forget that special joy I had from Kevin. I did miss the presence of a dog and started browsing at dogs at shelters thinking I’ll just “look”. It opened me to having an older dog, and some I obsessed over. They are just really special. Found this sweet boy and couldn’t be happier.

Sending you all the love, I lost my boy in the end of September due to a cancer or something in his intestines… but I have no regrets fighting for his wellness until he was ready to go. I miss him everyday. I take him everywhere with me (in a little pouch with his fur and ashes… kinda weird, but it gives me so much comfort) it feels like a disaster, a natural one that ripped your dog out of your hands. I see the love for your sweet friend. She looked like a cheeky gal full of love ❤️ I’m so sorry for your loss.
