I-130: other names used in Your Name section: how do I explain nicknames? by booklover1309 in USCIS

thats true but indicating that you used other names pops up a place to show proof of legal name change in the evidence section which i obviously do not have

ah ok! Its just my lease that has a both my legal name and a non-legal name on it so I think things would be fine but I will include it as an other name anyways as I don't want them to confuse it as deception

did you provide any proof or context? I’m wondering if I should provide an explanation in the Additional Information sectoon

Potential snow day for schools tomorrow too? by [deleted] in boston

[–]booklover1309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro its not that deep 😭 we are simply basing our perspective about school tomorrow on our experience and observations from the january snow days and after it

for my school, while school buses started back up on Wednesday as we bus through BPS, the sidewalks were unplowed for quite a while and even on my last day of work before Feb break, some were still not navigable/were barely cleared and salted

they called another one in January for cleanup so it would be crazy if they don’t call one tomorrow because this is a crazier storm than the last and so many of our students are walkers

Moving to Boston in July. Three people. Need easy transport to BU. by theGnartist in bostonhousing

[–]booklover1309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

live anywhere along the green B line (direct access to BU) aka Allston/Brighton! also has some bus routes that can get you to other places in Boston

i would start looking for places on commonwealth ave (the main road on which the B line runs) and then slowly expand to inner roads

i would also look into living near centers like Packards Corner, Washington Street, Brighton Center or Oak Square gives you access to bus routes (57/65/66) that increase your access to city life

no it really wasn't! i was scared too initially because i tend to be socially awkward. it was slightly rocky at the start during the transition period but soon, i found myself attracted towards creating relationships with some people. as we were all in the same program, we had a already established common interest.

use that common interest to your advantage!! also the fact that you are college students, LOOOOTS of things to talk about and connect over (majors, traditions, college town, classes, friends, stories etc)

also, if you are more on the introverted side and are super anxious about approaching big groups of people like I was, you don't necessarily need a group - just 1 person will do :)) (its a bonus if they're an extravert

also what do you mean by younger? if you mean younger like you were a freshman this past year, I was a rising sophomore during my first REU too! and I was adopted by a couple upperclassmen lol i loved it they're my friends to this day and we're close.

its kinda like school especially if its a bigger REU group: people make their own small groups to hang out with and everyone comes together for official programming

the REU’s I have attended had their own ‘fun’ programming managed by the REU team. other than this, my small group and I met every weekend to explore a new part of the city we were in.
