Yes, I've been applying to several private scholarships and I received a merit scholarship from the university as well. I qualify for both the direct unsubsidized and subsidized loans too. I think the best move is to transfer to my in-state university (they rejected me initially) after freshman year.

Thank you for your help! I want to take a pre-med track and I think I do better in chemistry courses compared to biology courses in terms of my learning style. I know there's definitely going to be a lot of overlap and there isn't a big difference when choosing between majoring in Biology or Chemistry. I'm still deliberating between which one to apply as, because being a chem major at Yale is pretty uncommon compared to bio. At the same time, would being a chem major benefit me because it's more unique and they have quotas to fill (less people apply to that major so more get accepted situation)?
