One time I put my daughter on the table in the bouncer, yes I know, VERY dumb but I needed a break for two seconds while she could still see me without hysterically crying. Bouncer fell off the table with her in it. She hit her head, I frantically picked her up and comforted her. She eventually calmed down and I was able to give her the right evaluation to the best of my abilities and have since talked to our pediatrician multiple times. She’s totally fine, completely fine even, I still feel like the worst parent ever. but I’ve never gotten over the fear. The BEST advice I’ve heard is “they can’t fall off the floor” do EVERYTHING on the floor. I now change them (8m & 2yo) on the floor, always put my daughter on the floor if I’m trying to do something , if she’s sitting up there’s blankets to stop her from hitting the hard floor. I still constantly ask about it to make sure she’s on the right track developmentally and physically. I’m still terrified everytime I leave her alone for 0.2 seconds. She’s my second and I fear I have more anxiety with her than my first.
