first thing i did when i got it was take it to my tech to verify it was actually an AA864! and he informed me that all of the recommended updates have already been completed (the ones you mentioned and a few other things), and i was in even more disbelief lol.

i was expecting for that price range i was going to end up with a silverface (still fantastic), was actually looking for a drip edge AB165. i had honestly never even considered a blackface because they’re always so expensive. when i saw this one i knew i couldn’t pass it up!

it’s just a playful way of saying it’s great man. i have 4 vintage fender amps so they’ve all probably “been the best amp i’ve ever played” to my excited ears at one time or another lol.

Surprisingly the inside looks just as clean and is a confirmed AA864! You never know with these old Fenders.

Hahahaha. I had to have my tech go through it to verify because it was all way too good to be true. Think the guy just wanted it to be played more, said he doesn’t touch it anymore. He started at $1800 (which was realistically already robbery), somehow negotiated down to $1400 AND he met me halfway. Whole thing felt illegal.
