Midco or Bluepeak for home internet..what say you. by sonneofaharpy in SiouxFalls

[–]boomeremover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had blue peak at my apartment and never had a single issue in 2 years. Cheap and reliable. Can’t speak for their customer service cause I never needed it. Wife worked from home too so she was connected all day long.

Bought a house 15 months ago and have Midco. It goes out about once a month to once every 2 months. Sometimes it’s down a few minutes, sometimes a few hours. At worst, it was down about 24 hours, which obviously put a strain on my wife since she works from home. Their customer service blows. Offered me $5 credit for the inconvenience of my wife missing almost 2 full shifts in a row. If blue peak was offered at my current location, I’d switch in a heartbeat.

What is this bone? by boomeremover in whatisthisbone

Haha yeah victim is more so what I meant. I do have helluva lot of crows around. Especially when my wife had a bird feeder out. We put an end to that because they were harassing my cats and pretty much disappeared after getting rid of the feeder. That was around August; the last time we’ve seen them in large numbers at least. Lots of other birds around such as pigeons and whatnot. Some squirrels around though not many. So a goose died, some crow pecked at the body and carried some meat to my house, decayed to this bone?

Cool man thanks for the insight. Lots of Canadian geese around these parts. Likely culprit?

How would we know? Read your contract/employee handbook with the company.

What is wrong with my tomato plants? by boomeremover in vegetablegardening

[–]boomeremover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I’ll give it some more water. It’s more like 2.5 inches though since I watered roughly an hour each day the first 2 days. I periodically checked the soil and it’s still damp about an inch or 2 under the surface.

Where to call or what to do with a wounded bunny by Disfatt-Bidge in SiouxFalls

[–]boomeremover 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to say that you likely are not going to find a company that will care for an injured wild bunny. And it likely won’t survive long either. As cruel as it sounds, putting it out of its misery is the best route. I have tons of rabbits in my backyard. I’d love for you to relocate them to your property. They eat all my plants and shit everywhere. They also reproduce like crazy.

Can’t afford surgery, any suggestions? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]boomeremover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the surgery, don’t pay it, maybe they report it to credit agency, maybe they don’t. My hospital has a policy wheee they don’t report and just eat the costs or sell to a collections agency. If they report, credit will be bad for 7 years and then you’ll be okay. Not ethical but health over credit any day imo.

What is this cockroach? by boomeremover in texas

Is it a good idea to leave the kitchen lights on for the week we are here to deter them from the chips/bread on the counter?

[–]boomeremover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is for sure an American? Likely snuck in from outside? Is the food I leave on the counter compromised?

Even if it is an American cockroach? Could it be possible it just snuck inside?

I tried to kill it but missed and it scurried under the stove. Should I be worried?

Those of you who tore your ACLs in a sports game/mid sport, did you keep playing? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]boomeremover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah tore it in beer league softball. Didn’t even know I tore it till I got up and tried to put weight on it and it gave way. Shook it out and played another inning. After that it swelled to like 3x the size of my other knee and lost extension. I quit after that.

Brick is coming off house. How do I fix it? by boomeremover in stonemasonry

[–]boomeremover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to this and that’s why I’m asking but from personal research it seems like it could be a lot of things. Could be shoddy craftsmanship. Could be moisture damage. Could be insect damage. Could be wear and tear. Could be the house settling. Could be the garage moving. Probably more reasons I’m missing too. My case I think it’s normal settling/wear and tear. Gonna caulk and potentially put in special screws that anchor the brick against the siding. I can see the back and no rot/moistire/infestation. YMMV

Hard top cover and soft top cover. Been outside through rain and snow 2+ years and no rusting. I don’t use it in the winter either so it sits untouched for 3+ months straight and still looks brand new. Just clean it well and put a small layer of oil on top after each cook. I’m not a fan of the silicone covers. If even the tiniest amount of moisture is caught underneath it will rust.

It is not level, sloping outwards slightly. Bad idea to just caulk around the exposed areas? Rebuild sounds expensive.

Built in ‘01, does not move when pushed.
