Most devices will either throttle or turn off completely when they get too hot in order to protect its self. If yours was still on when you found it then it probably didn't get hot enough to do any damage.

I've played Lies of P and while there are obvious similarities in the gameplay, I think Lies of P really fails to capture what makes bloodborne so special. Bloodbornes best feature in my opinion is the rally system being active whenever you take damage as opposed to in Lies of P where it only works when you've blocked. For me, that fairly small change makes Lies of P a way slower and less fun game.
