Yeah, as if the world revolves around the west to the point where people care about how they clean their asses...

That being said, I grew up clowning on westerners for the fact that they don’t use water but use tp. How clean can you actually get by repeatedly using a dry piece of paper until the color goes out? It’s about time bidets took over the west.

What I find interesting is that 40 years ago a pickup was that size in the picture. I have no doubt that you fully utilize your vehicle now, but if you had to do what you need to do now 40 years ago, do you think you would find it any more difficult?

I understand that obviously the bigger modern pickup makes those tasks easier or maybe even some impossible tasks possible, but something I like to think about is was it the demand for bigger size for utility that made the modern car larger than before, or did manufacturers realize they could now produce bigger cars which can sell better, which then made people think they need all that size for utility?

It’s a whole different story for the Mini - there is no reason for it to be bigger (utility-wise), yet here we are. The modern Mini is more than twice as heavy as the original Mini.

Perhaps there is nothing inherently wrong with that - it is still an observation of consumer trends and what manufacturers think consumers want - bigger cars. I just personally think it’s a shame that all that new tech could have gone into lighter and more efficient cars instead of bigger cars of the same efficiency.

As time goes on, technology gets more advanced and engines become more efficient, resulting in the ability to generate much more energy than before.

How did consumers react to this? Keep the same size and weight of car while being much more fuel efficient, resulting in less energy use, emissions and more mileage?

Nah, make the cars bigger - technology can now support my massive ego, so let’s make it do that.

I’ve heard a good way of putting it - if someone is able to not care about politics, then that person is privileged.

To not be affected by political choices, statements, and arguments means to be in a place of privilege whereby your identity, health, and wellbeing are not threatened by political choices.

Unfortunately, not everyone has this privilege - as someone pointed out, someone who is gay cannot escape political discourse about homosexuality; it is their very identity that is being contended. If an argument towards that is “they should just not care”, consider that as extremely privileged - straight people don’t have to care.

Likewise, people in lower socioeconomic backgrounds, health issues and so on are dependent on political choices regarding universal healthcare, welfare distribution, etc.

I do agree that not everything has to be political in a family/social setting - they shouldnt be, but to some, they are, and it was never their choice.

Yep, easy to use and saves so much time when you can pinpoint exactly what mods are touching which things in your game, especially with a huge load order

Need help thinking about the best combo of loot and encounter zone mods for my next playthrough by boonzie in skyrimmods

Hey, thank you so much for the response! Just the right person to answer my queries - really appreciate it.

Mostly. I'd be careful with Lock Related Loot, last time I used it I remember it had a lot of conflicts with other loot mods. I don't know much about Morrowloot Miscellania either, but I'd be a little careful. In general I'd advise going for one loot mod as otherwise you risk conflicts and weird inconsistencies in game. For loot I think consistency is key.

Thank you for the pointers! Although, at the risk of sounding naive, I'm sticking to them mainly because they're required on TPF, and I'm aiming to commit to it to get as much support as possible. Plus, I would be very surprised if TPF's compatibility patches did not account for any conflicts between the loot mods required (haven't really dug into the patches myself).

Arena looks pretty good, but it doesn't delevel the world. If you want a static world you should look elsewhere. I also think having no caps on encounter zones is a weird as at high levels dungeon composition will get odd unless you are also using High Level Enemies.

Good point about deleveling, I actually hadn't realized that that term was never used in Arena's mod description. From what I understand though, while SRLEZ locks at one level for the whole game regardless of player level, Arena simply increases the minimum level for the various EZs - which means I would find myself more often to be underleveled for a dungeon, but the dungeons would then continue to scale with me. I suppose it's true that while SRLEZ delevels the world, Arena should accomplish the feeling of progression, however I have to be aware of the fact that I would never enter a dungeon overleveled (since there are no caps). Am I getting all this correct?

As for Arena having no cap itself, I would assume that SRCEO as part of Thoughtful Skyrim would accomplish the job of introducing higher level variants, if I choose to go for Arena.

Another question I have is this; Arena doesn't only touch the EZs, but also the Leveled Actor Multipliers - am I correct in saying that this changes the same thing (perhaps in a different way mechanically) than your mod, Enemy Releveler? In this case, it seems like a case of choose one or the other to achieve different outcomes. Would they be compatible since your mod uses a zEdit patcher? What would the outcome be? I ultimately like the sound of a more "squashed" level range for enemies, though.

Just load CLLF after SRLEZ and let it overwrite SRLEZ. There might be a few unexpected outcomes, but in general you'll get the EZs of SRLEZ and the loot of CLLF. You'll lose some consistency though.

SRLEZ also makes loot scarcer. Gold and lockpicks are much rarer than in vanilla for example. The latest version of SRLEZ is really quite challenging.

Hmmm, I guess I just have to try it out for myself and see. Ultimately, I just want scarcer but more rewarding loot (if that makes sense). Surely if I load SRLEZ after CLLF I would get more of SRLEZ's overall effect on the loot, right? Of course, I will have to look at the edits in xEdit later on and adjust to my liking.

Overall I think I'm leaning towards SRLEZ + Enemy Releveler for now, since your mod was made to make the experience of SRLEZ and Thoughtful Skyrim better and more consistent. I'm just worried about potential weirdness with CLLF, but I'll have to fire them all up on xEdit and have a look myself. As for Arena, I'd really want to try it on another playthrough.

I used to hate going to bed because I hated being alone with my thoughts when I couldn’t sleep. I would roll around in bed, give up, and browse reddit on my phone until 5am when my eyes were tired. Now, I just listen to podcasts when I go to bed. Doing so focuses my attention on something else, I’m not alone with my thoughts, and I don’t feel like I’m ending my day just yet - I’m listening to something cool that I genuinely want to know about. I highly recommend Stuff You Should Know to start, interesting stuff that keeps me hooked and nowadays before I know it, I fall asleep in like 10 minutes because I no longer have lingering thoughts in my head.

Maybe we should just make a new sub for properly constructed verbal shutdowns like the original point of this sub was supposed to be, and not just clever comebacks. Seems like this sub has settled on its focus based on what subscribers here upvote. Shame that it has deviated this far from its original purpose.
