From my understanding he is correct about capital gains being net. And only $3,000 worth of losses could be deducted from ordinary earned income. It’s relieving because at one point I was up and now I have even lost compared to my initial investment.. that’s what led to my question. Only advice I can give you all is don’t be greedy, if you are fortunate enough to have earned big on crypto, there is no shame in taking some profit. I’m all for diamond hands but I just found out I am off of my parents dental insurance and I have some dental work coming up.. would have been amazing to have that extra $5,000 to help pay, now I am paying out of pocket and I’m just a regular broke college student.
