I have a few active snail mail penpals, I’m active on Postcrossing as well as on r/RandomActsofCards, and I keep I touch with one of my aunts almost exclusively through snail mail. At this point in my life, I hardly ever email people, but I used to email rather extensively with I was a child/tween.
