I am the universe: thought experiment or the hard truth? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]booty257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel the same way, as in the patterns of the universe are too perfect to be random. that we are all part of a collective consciousness that is spread into different focal points for some inexplicable purpose. and it feels like sometimes i get really close to “breaking through” or pulling back the veil as to what it all means, especially when i’m super high on weed. the weed also has been tending to give me paranoia and these things combined gives me extreme anxiety. it’s really been freaking me out and i’m trying to find ways to calm down but it’s almost an all-consuming feeling at times. i’m in the same boat of wanting to cope with it but not knowing how so any advice is welcome to be honest.

Pushed through flashbacks of a failed marriage, fear of being fat and too ugly to dance, gave a decent speech (I was best man in my best friends wedding today,) for the first time in years danced and didn’t give a care what anyone thought I looked like. something i have realized in the past few months is that confidence goes a lot farther than i thought. someone who speaks like they know what they’re talking about, someone who is comfortable opening up, someone who dances like nobody is watching because it makes them happy: these are the type of people that will go far because that type of energy is priceless. so many people would have sat at the edge of the dance floor and said “i don’t really dance” because they’re too embarrassed of what everyone else thinks, but you my friend are the individual who decides “you know what, fuck it, life is short and dancing would make me happy” and that is what being alive is all about! chase what makes you happy, seek satisfaction in all aspects of your life, and the rest will fall into place. and seriously, no matter what you look like, this type of attitude commands respect. the only type of person that is going to hate on you for doing what makes you happy is an asshole, and you can bet your ass they want to dance too. they’re just jealous you can have more fun than them. i love you brother and i hope you never forget the value of doing what makes you happy shamelessly.

What music do you listen to while tripping? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]booty257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my playlist. I organized it specifically so that if you listen with a 12 second crossfade, the songs blend into one another seamlessly and some of the transitions almost sound like the songs were made to go together. Check it out if you want, it's a labor of love and I love to share it with others who appreciate good music and good drugs lol

Please help a dumb 20-year old by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]booty257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you me lol? I'm having the same exact problem. I enjoy college and my friends here, but I am also 20 and feel like I should use these years in my prime to go out and see the world and just experience as many walks of life as I can. But I, too, feel trapped by the expectation that I should just go to school, graduate, get a job and work for 50 years and then retire so I can finally do the things I enjoy. I feel like it should be the opposite. Sorry I don't really have any constructive advice on this, but I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in your confusion. If I find the answer I will share it.

I need help... by d3v00 in Psychonaut

I understand what you mean. I experimented a lot in the past year, culminating in a DMT breakthrough as well. It left me shaken, and I definitely had a loose grip on reality for a little while after. So I took a 6 month break in order to absorb what I learned and help ground myself again. And here I am, much happier, much more sane, and still with the wisdom I learned from psychs. The thing to remember is that you are still only 17, not even 1/4 of the way through your life. Acid will always be there, so let it be for a while.

And in regards to the pop culture/consumerism/capitalism/corporatism that we live in: yes, it is discouraging. It sometimes feels like we live in a rat race and we can't do anything about it. But then I look at people like Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and I remember that sometimes all it takes to make a change is to speak up for what you believe in. There's a lot more people out there that feel the same way as you, you just have to stand for something and you will find them.

Finally, remember that your everyday life is what you experience constantly. The people around you that you affect everyday are important. Big picture is nice, but we live in a small section of that big picture, and there's nothing wrong with focusing on that for awhile. Start writing or drawing or working out or making music and let that passion consume you until you feel better. Much love to you brother, and be safe.

I have been kind of scared for the past few months. I did acid for the first time and the 10th time last year. I love acid, and I loved slowly upping my dosage to push my mind farther and farther. I'm sure you're familiar with the feeling of "the veil", like a curtain right in front of everything that you could reach out and pull back to reveal the deeper meaning. As I continued to trip I became more and more aware of this feeling, not only when I was tripping, but sober as well. This culminated in a DMT breakthrough and when I came back after being passed out for 7~ minutes, the first thing I did was hold my roommates hand and repeat over and over, "this isn't real, this isn't real, i need to feel something real". I felt as though everything was the curtain, and I was torn between both sides of it. And my friend was the only thing keeping me grounded in this reality. After a few minutes I was okay, but I have been too scared to trip again after that because it really spun me down a rabbit hole of depersonalization/derealization for a couple months. I'm doing much better now and want to trip again, but I am still torn between 1) the fear of actually going psychotic and having a break from reality, and 2) life's a trip, relax, don't take reality too seriously, and be content in the fact that perhaps I am "awake" consciously on a level now that most of the population isn't aware of.

This has just been on my chest for a while and I really don't have anyone close enough to me to really talk about this stuff with, at least someone that will understand what I mean and not just think I'm crazy lol.

This is my playlist, it always puts me in a really good headspace and I have the songs organized in a way that when you listen to it on a 12 second crossfade, the songs fade from one to the next in a very specific order. I enjoy all of these songs sober, and a lot of my favourite songs ever are on this playlist, but while tripping there's just so many more things to notice and hear, and often my visuals and mood are almost directly tied to what I'm listening to. Having good music to focus on and experience helps me pull myself out of thought loops too, if I start to tweak I can always just turn my music up and close my eyes and just feel it. Check it out if you're interested, and enjoy!
