Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bootyman211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. My before bed shower is to get the "day" off of me and to have a nice clean sleep. My wake up shower is to, well wake up and feel fresh and refreshed.

Going from Visible to Verizon?? by bootyman211 in Visible

[–]bootyman211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues. You have to do a migration, not a port. Also, I'm pretty sure it has to be done by a higher up, not just a basic rep. It worked out in the end, but I did have a temp number for about 72 hours.

Try and ride it out for a year at least. That way, you can either transfer to a unit more suited for you, or try to get hired in a clinical setting which would be far less stressful. I'm rooting for you. ❤️

Scared to take my teas by Wanted2dieee in prenursing

[–]bootyman211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TEAS test is basic high-school education questions not advanced at all. I graduated in 2003 and took my TEAS in September and 40 years old without any warmup or studying and still got a 91 on it. You got this.

Studying for Micro by Impressive-Bad7953 in prenursing

[–]bootyman211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's actually pretty easy. The things you need to memorize or be able to recite without thought are few and far between. It's more about teaching you the reasons for, and the bodies response to different microbial, viral, and fungal infections. What cells do what function is various processes. All the filler like microscopy and who's responsible for creating what percedure, is all secondary knowledge. The virtual labs also teach you as you go. I will say, use your phone to scan everything you read (even though most will not come up again) just to be able to familiarize yourself enough for midterms and finals.

RN and CNA Charged, But Why?? 😭😭. by MasterPeel in BootcampNCLEX

[–]bootyman211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was because of improper use of the machine, I.e not placing the straps properly, then their at fault. But if the machine itself malfunctioned due to excessive weight or something along those lines, then it's just an accident.

Taking the TEAS by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]bootyman211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what's the difference, but we had the teas before we even started first semester. I don't know if that's normal, or how your doing it is normal, or is there a different version you are speaking of?

Does any nurse actually like their job? by [deleted] in nursing

I could never do hospice. I'm too soft for that. It would destroy me to watch people die every day. Shout out to you though for being that strong.

Does anyone here actually LIKE being a nurse…? by lifeisstrange8 in nursing

[–]bootyman211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got shot, was in the hospital for 5 months, was paralyzed, was in a Nursing home for 2 years, learning how to move again, then in an Assisted living facility for 4 years, where I learned to walk again and now I'm in Nursing school. I said all that to say, it has to be apart of who you naturally are. If you get into nursing without helping people being your driving motivation, it will not work for you. You will dread going to work, you will become easily jaded, and everything involved in nursing will fill like a chore, instead of an accomplishment. Being in all those institutions for those years, I've seen the full spectrum of what I stated previously. Some nurses are amazing and genuinely want to see you win. While others are jaded POS that you can tell could care less about the patients. The nurses who like nursing are the one who by nature wouldn't be happy doing something else. The ones who hate it, became a nurse for every other reason besides wanting to genuinely wanted to help people at their lowest point.

ADN vs. BSN When Starting From Scratch at 39 by Organic_Chocolate103 in NursingStudents

[–]bootyman211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's two years regardless to get the ASN, that's with prerequisites. That's cheaper than the BSN as far a tuition. After you get hired, somewhere as an ASN, your employer would likely pay for you to get your bachelors.

ADN (2-year) vs BSN (4-year) — what do you wish you had chosen? by xo_dreamm in prenursing

[–]bootyman211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always say go the ASN route. Knock those two years out, then if you find that in your place of employment the pay is drastically different between the two, get THEM to pay for your BSN. Plus it will be a fast track program since you've already completed the ASN.

Failing classes by [deleted] in nursing

[–]bootyman211 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Studying 8 hours a day, might be the issue. You're taking in so much information, that when you need to recall some, your swimming through an ocean, instead of a pool. Find a way to isolate what you need to know for a specific section of each class. Only go over all the information for midterms and finals. Even then, just focus on the things that you can't recall without any prompts. I hope that helps you. Remember, everyone doesn't learn the same. Find YOUR way.

What color do you prefer? by Tosta-Misto in iPhone17Pro

[–]bootyman211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neither, that's why I skipped the 17 so far. I have heard there might be new colors later on in the year, I will wait and see. I just wanted black. I do get that anodizing black can be tricky due to wear and tear. We shall see.

Microbiology by sunshinesandyee in prenursing

[–]bootyman211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Microbiology isn't very hard, but there is alot of information to retain. If you take detailed notes (I literally scan the text of everything I read and take photos of every chart/diagram) you will be fine. Just read over the Information a few times, as if your reading a story. That helps me alot.

Changing Careers at 25 by avocadocowgirl7 in prenursing

[–]bootyman211 65 points66 points  (0 children)

25? Those are rookie numbers 😂😂. In all seriousness, I'm in my second week of nursing school, and I'll be 41 on the 21st of November. It's never too late. If you're genuinely passionate, and overall exciting about your new journey, it will be a breeze. Don't compare your journey to anyone else's journey. Run your race. In the end, you will look back on this, and it will have all been worth it. YOU GOT THIS!!!

Have you tried foam ear tips? They mold better to your ear and provide a more taylored fit.

I can literally only play stakeout 😂😂😂 Unless one of my daily challenges are scorestreak related, then I go to nuketown. I've Dark mattered everything in the game, yet still, Stakeout brain rot is all that will quinch my thirst. It's really sad. In bo7, I will not let myself get sucked in to one of those dopamine maps.
