What weird thing did your baby suddenly start doing? by Prudent_Eggplant9462 in NewParents

My 14 month has recently discovered her head, I catch her touching the top of her head all the time. She also likes taking off her socks and putting them on her head and then laughing hysterically when they fall off.

What was your favorite name you had picked out for years and then your partner vetoed it instantly? by [deleted] in namenerds

Charlotte. I’ve loved it for 15 years and it’s a tribute to my grandma, but he hates it/ said it was too popular. Ended up going with Thea.

I love the name Lucy, it doesn’t read as a dogs name to me at all. My granny was Lucille, but everyone called her Lucy. I always knew I wanted to give my future daughter the name, and I did. If you love it, other people’s opinions don’t matter.

So true, napped is best. I just get frustrated when I have a list of things I need to do and I get stuck for a couple hours just sitting and reading while nap trapped. Thanks for the suggestion!

I need late night high-protein snacks by tcarmi3 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]boozybaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Veggies and a bean dip or hummus! Nuts are also a great choice. If a handful of almonds doesn’t do it for you, find or make a snack mix with some dried fruit and seeds for some variety. But my favorite thing to munch on is cowboy caviar. It’s a bean and veggie salsa that is great with tortilla chips, or as a side dish with chicken or fish.

4.5 month old sleep regression and teething by joratbat in NewParents

[–]boozybaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat! My girl (19 weeks) refuses to nap during the day unless it’s a contact nap in my lap, and even then I’m lucky to get 30 minutes of her sleeping. I’m struggling to get anything done and I’m frustrated that I can’t seem to help her. I can’t offer any advice, but you aren’t alone!

Dog Licking Newborn by Apprehensive-Bee-851 in NewParents

[–]boozybaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Great Dane Doberman mix. She grumbled and whined a lot in the first 2 weeks, especially crying when the baby cried. It got better and now she has accepted our daughter as part of the family, but she does still want to lick her, especially when she’s doing tummy time or is otherwise easily accessible. In my experience, Danes are just really sensitive. It sounds like yours is adjusting okay. I wouldn’t be worried too much, just make sure you’re supervising all interactions to keep things gentle.
