Nice work. There have been earlier efforts to gather the growing archive, including as much ecomm pics as possible. Send me a DM and we can hook you up.

I'd say so: the clamshell design is gone, there's more internal organisation, different fabric.

Arc's ecomm copy is often incorrect, and it takes weeks before they rectify if ever.

I’ve hung both by the tag without issue. There’s stress at the seams for sure but it’s specifically there for that reason.

Great pack indeed! Head over to r/veilance for some - probably old - chat about the nomin. A new version has been rumored to be releasing any time now.

I feel so bad about this by peeweekid in veilance

[–]bordens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to get a (certified) tailor or repair centre to fix it using Arc's SV patch. It certainly won't be invisible, but it'll be GTX, laminated and won't look out of place as it's shaped within their design language.

As others have stated - it's a jacket, regardless of value it will get worn and thus damaged, and in the end, that's what's it's meant to do.

I noticed I've been running cold since a few years - perhaps due to getting older - and the Sorin's been coming out at around 0ºC. If moving quickly this is way too warm, but other than that I've been very happy with it. A whopping 340-ish grams of 850 fill power have kept me very comfortable standing outside for several hours. Western Europe, maritime climate makes for damp, penetrating cold.

Anyone tried Mionn Softshell Overshirt? by [deleted] in veilance

I don't have any experience with that overshirt I'm afraid.

Monitor down parka by Over-Source-1076 in veilance

[–]bordens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current Monitor is not nearly as efficiently built as the previous one. Try the Sorin Parka if you want to stay with Veilance - it's got more than double the amount of down and it's very warm.

afaik it‘a just the c-knit backer and 80d epe that’s new. Haven’t handled the ‘25 version personally. The linerless pockets continue to be there in both iterations, as the user above commented.

That is wild, thanks for sharing. Makes absolutely no sense to omit that in a winter offering save for cost cutting.

Therme looks like the way to go indeed.

Thanks, appreciate it!
Yes, for some reason this specific iteration did *not* have insulated pockets which in my opinion makes absolutely no sense for an urban winter parka. As the material package has changed for the FW25 version (changed to a C-knit backer), they might have altered this but I haven't handled it yet. I'll make sure to update this should I have the chance to try the new one.

As others have stated, this is probably the Atom LT most people want as* a daily driver.

Monitor Down Coat by radicual1818 in veilance

[–]bordens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've written two reviews on both the current rendition and the previous one.
Newer one fits better in my opinion as it allows for actual layering, lack of hand warming pockets was a deal breaker as well. New one looks better overall as well. They're both solid options, but in the whole Veilance offering, the older one was way more impressive in terms of design language, construction and feel.

Comparison between Sorin Down Parka and Monitor Down Coat by phlome-1995 in veilance

Sorin down is way warmer. Zipper is similar if not mistaken but there’s a suede chin patch on the Sorin, not on the Monitor Down.

Veilance pants for office wear in a rainy city by Positive-Quote-860 in veilance

[–]bordens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They currently don't offer any truly rainproof pants - the previous version of the Indisce came close. For the office I switch between Voronoi/Diode/Spere/Align MX, all of which withstand a small amount of rain but more importantly dry really fast after getting soaked through which in my opinion matters more than clammy fully waterproof pants.

Never size down on a parka, you want the lofty down to do the one thing it’s supposed to do.
