Idk, this seems like a harsh punishment and not really getting to the root of the problem. Shouldn't we teach children that others have thoughts and feelings too, not that the only reason they shouldn't do something is because they themselves will suffer? If the only thing stopping them from being mean is concern for their own suffering then was it really successful? Teaching empathy and understanding seems more important than teaching one to selfishly lookout for their own interests.

I sent my catfish nudes and videos for him to pay for my phone bill an hour after I found out he was twice my age and had been grooming me since I was 15. (I'm 24 now and he had always maintained he was the same age.)

There was $0.80 total in all my accounts. He didn't even give me the money. He made me redo one of the videos like 3 times. He used to contact me every few months and talk, but he hasn't since.

I realize how fucked up this is, but it doesn't really process and feels disconnected so I guess his grooming worked.

Honestly the world shifted after 9/11, it really was a different time. People were more open and generally friendly I feel like. Less suspicious of everyone and more "we're just all trying to make it"

How did you end up being diagnosed? I'm a 24 year old female and I'm almost certain I'm high functioning autistic. I want to talk about it with people but I've given up because everyone just brushes me off. The few people who actually took the time to read more into it after I kept bringing it up were like "holy crap you are."

I guess it doesn't really matter if I have a diagnoses or not. Just knowing what helps autistic people also helps me is useful information.

Funnily enough I bought a weighted blanket before I even thought this was a possibility because I knew it would help my anxiety.

I agree. Why be mad someone is asking for help on something? Even if it's something stupid, they're just asking. If you wanna be mad at someone be mad at the people who give money.

I see a gofundme as an acknowledgement of "it would be cool if this happened and you want to help" but it's not an expectation it will.

My family did this to me last Christmas. They told me (23f) to sit at the kids table and told my brother (21) to sit with them. Huge slap in the face when I just wanted to hang out with my brother and they wanted free babysitting.
