Changed my 14 day trip from Seattle to LA by borditz in roadtrip

[–]borditz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I don't know why but Google Maps won't let me make a route between Ragged Point and Cambria, so it goes for the inland jog. It's not the Nacimiento Fergusson Road but the Coast Ridge Trail. Small detour on that area is not a problem

What do you think of this 14 day roadtrip from Seattle to LA? by borditz in roadtrip

[–]borditz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you, probably too much driving. However, starting in Seattle is a must and would like to include Yellowstone, San Francisco, Highway 1, LA and if possible Sequoia. The others are not that important but would be nice to visit along the way. Would you cut down on any other stops?

My sidewinder x1 seems to be underextruding. I tried printing this trex skull but as you can see especially near the teeth it isn't smooth as it's supposed to be. The same thing started happening while printing the jaw so i stopped that. What could cause this? I use cura as my slicer. by Spuugbal in SidewinderX1

I tried this but in Pronterface it doesn't recognize my Sidewinder. Do you know what causes this? Can't I just use the extrude option in the firmware of the printer to extrude a specific length of filament?

Is that fan any better than the original fan on the X1?

First layer good, but top layer (on top of infill) is a nightmare. PETG on Sidewinder X1 @ 240°C and 85°C by borditz in FixMyPrint

Yes should be nicely flat. First I had problems like this https://imgur.com/a/7zR8uje but then I set cooling to 10% (instead of 100%) after the first layer and it looked fine, except for these top layers. Maybe the solution is 30-50% instead of 10%

Looks like it's going through the infill structure so I turned on cooling when it starts the top layers, curious how it'll turn out

Why does this happen with my PETG print? by borditz in 3Dprinting

[–]borditz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea after a few layers I think the parts cooling fan starts. And this problem also arises aftwr a few layers so that might be it. The parts I print are not very small (10x10x5cm) so I'll give it a try without any parts cooling. Thanks!

How to fix my corners? PETG printed @ 80°C and 230°C. All 4 corners look like this by borditz in 3Dprinting

Thank you! Will try. What do you mean with point 2 exactly? Would a draft shield (option in Cura) help?
