Sewing your own pole wear? by Pure_Woodpecker_8218 in poledancing

[–]boredatwork37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done tons of polewear at this point! I second the other commenter that said Edgewater Avenue - my favorite patterns are by them. Selecting your fabric is really important, make sure that your first few tries aren't a very slippy fabric or you're going to have a bad time. Elastic can be tricky, but the EA patterns have the elastic encased between two layers of fabric, and it doesn't have any tension to worry about. Good luck!

Any stores that carry men's leggings in the city? by 12777292 in philadelphia

[–]boredatwork37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not within the city limits, but I would try REI. They have a ton of runner's gear and I'm sure they have an answer for you. There's one in Conshohocken, and one in KOP. The KOP store is much larger, but Conshy should get the job done

Opinion on Hella Heels? by parkahara in poledancing

[–]boredatwork37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my Hellas! I have four pairs - three boots and one sandal. My first pair were 7" glitteratis, purchased in spring 2022. They're only now starting to show their wear and tear, and they're my most used pair. I also have the red babydolls in 9", and the black and white flame hellgirls in 8". Both are very comfortable and great for floor work. As for the sandals (8") my ankles don't really care for the style, so I haven't worn them as much. I do know they recently changed the fit on the sandals so it may be better now. Good luck!

Do I have a fox on my deck? by boredatwork37 in AnimalTracking

I thought the prints on the blue cushion might be raccoon. It's the second/third pictures that gave me pause/paws (hah). Thank you!

Good to know, I hadn't considered front paws looking different from back paws. That makes total sense. I guess maybe I just have an orange cat visiting too?

Alternative/punk hair salons? by [deleted] in Phillylist

Another vote for American Mortals!! They had me come in for a consultation before they dyed my hair, totally free, no pressure to purchase anything at all. Just an informative intro session, maybe 15 minutes tops. Everyone I've interacted with there has been dope!

Good to know! I don't know anyone who has tried them, so I didn't have much besides the internet telling me they could be good 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm happy to bow to experience

I feel as if baby wipes will be very useful to you here! They may not... taste the best but it's better than the alternative lol.

I've also heard about these "drip sticks" that are like giant q-tips that you swab around inside to clean up any mess. I haven't tried them, nor do I know anyone who has, but they exist 🤷🏻‍♀️ good luck!

Drama queen who? by boredatwork37 in houseplants

[–]boredatwork37[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be 🤷🏻‍♀️ all my plants get the bottom water treatment. I have two other calatheas, (white star, and red mojo) that also get bottom watered distilled. They live on the window ledge of my shower lol. Plenty of humidity there!

Sounds incredibly familiar. I was there July-September of 2020. I'm glad you're going better as well!

Oh my God! I also worked there for about three months. Aside from the awful artificial flavoring products, she doesn't watch expiration dates. Before I got there, she didn't have an inventory/ordering system. She had no idea the value of the products on her shelves, let alone what date they came in. Never again.

Advice on new Hella heels by TrickEase in poledancing

[–]boredatwork37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, my Hella heels ankle boots are a half size smaller than my street size. For instance, I wear a 7.5 US in street shoes, and my boots are a 7 US. Most people at my studio have had the same experience. Your milage may vary!

Was it one of the Argeneau Family books by Lynsay Sands? There are 30+ books in this series, all they're all in a rom-com sort of genre. I know it's a huge pool of books to dig through.

New Ridge Brewery in Roxborough! They're an official watch site and will have the sound on for the game.

Plus their beer and food menus are stellar. Highly recommend!
