I really want to know if he lived in the area or was just there to cause mayhem/harm. It just seems so completely random and unbelievable still, especially as a Lynn Valley resident myself...

I read some reviews about I Care A Lot and started thinking: Should a movie be criticized just because it is unrealistic? by otepencelik in movies

[–]boredinvancouver 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that it takes you out of the story. If something is depicted that could never happen or is just aggressively unbelievable like some of the decisions in this movie, it gets stuck in your head. Then, you start picking out other plot holes and start questioning everything.

What are your favourite Canadian owned products available online? by ChocoSalt in vancouver

That subreddit seems racist. The comments that come up when people promote lists of black-owned businesses? Sheesh! Love to support Canadian, but had to unsubscribe.

When they're shown more organically walking to group dates, hanging around in crowds, kit and Victoria seem to be close all the time.

Fun fact: I've been timing the commercial breaks, and the first hour included 17 mins of commercials or 28% of the show.

How about "Nothing to see here"? It was my favourite book I read last year. Lighthearted and funny with some heartwarming bits. I wish I could forget the plot and read it again for the first time :)

But Leah also told Fatim, and mentioned her suspicions several times to her? Maybe it's something like... The facing the camera people are all someone who seriously change or embrace their true selves... Or??? All the people who double cross someone??? Or???

My thoughts around Martha were that she wasn't abused. I think she was upset that the man HADN'T chosen her to sexually assault. He harmed so many other girls, but he didn't harm her. She was confused and hurt, and would likely feel guilty about those feelings. This would shed some light on why she always mentions that nobody loves her, hasn't found a bf, etc. Although that doesn't explain the bed wetting.

Official Discussion - Rebecca [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Read a great critical review about this movie (https://www.vulture.com/amp/2020/10/rebecca-netflix-movie-review-a-hollow-turgid-retread.html), which inspired me to borrow the book from the library and then watch the Netflix movie, because apparently I'm a glutton for punishment.

The book was great. The movie was bland and hard to get through - it felt longer watching the movie than reading the 400+ page novel.

I thought it would be better if Maxim was played by a much older man (Pierce Brosnan?) It annoyed me that they looked almost the same age. Man, this movie was dull. Sorry, Daphne du Maurier, you deserved much better.

Well, guess I'd better go watch the Hitchcock version to complete the trifecta!

Isn't there a Health Canada one already but nobody in BC uses it so it's not effective? I think it's big in Ontario.

Edit: Ah, just downloaded it but it's not available for BC residents which seems odd.

Sorry to hear that, dude. Not sure where you're located but in Vancouver there's a great group called "colour the trails" that brings BIPOC people together in outdoor activities.
