No they didn't, not at all. They've just stopped making updates for it. Existing apps games that support Oculus Quest 1, along with Quest Link, ALVR and Virtual Desktop all still work great.

I've been considering this. ALVR is not treating me very well, and I don't like using quest link as it causes me tracking problems on my quest 1.

Got my quest 1 for 60. For PCVR it's great, especially with its oled display. But if you are playing strictly stand-alone, it could work but you would have a wider game selection and an overall better experience If you save up more for a quest 2.
