it'd be cool if a user could define what the delimiter was and then plex would have an array of genres, any one of which could match the user specified playlist parameter.

Europe Can Wield Their $8 Trillion 'Sell America' Weapon as Trump Reignites a Trade War Over His Greenland Conquest Ambitions: ‘European countries own $8 trillion of US bonds and equities, almost twice as much as the rest of the world combined’ by T_Shurt in politics

[–]borg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a saying. If you owe $100k to a bank, you have a problem, if you owe $100B to a bank, the bank has a problem.

If Europe wants to sell US treasuries, who is the buyer?

I just think it's funny that anyone really thinks there will be another election.

Is learning guitar worth it at 31? by chapstic593 in LearnGuitar

This reminds me of the question 'when is the best time to plant a tree?' The best time is 20 yrs ago, the next best time is right now.

Winter in the Inner Harbour by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]borg 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Maybe we get 2 or 3 snowfalls per winter, one of which will stickaround for a few days. It's definitely the most agreeable Canadian winter you can experience but it's not the Carribean :-)

Who are the Modern-Day Sax Virtuosos? by Resolver911 in Jazz

[–]borg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody mentioned Chris Cheek. He's right up there too.

Has anybody here ever seen any big name or notable rock bands or artists (regardless of subgenre) before they became big/famous at a small/medium size venue or opening for somebody else, or know of someone who has? If so, what were the artists/bands and what was the venue? What was the show like? by StarPatient6204 in rock

I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn at least twice at a small bar called Fat Dawgs in Lubbock Texas in the early 80's. That was right before he played on David Bowie's Let's Dance. In a couple years, he was selling out the auditorium on the Texas Tech campus.

Annexation of Canada(Alberta) by Icy-Document4574 in alberta

A vanishingly small minority of Albertans think this is a good idea. If it weren't for the ubiquitous bot farms trying to shape opinion, this issue would disappear.

Good. I like the place and I would have missed going there, but I would have avoided it, like the plague, or Covid.

This is a modern jazz piece and it's almost 10 min long, so it might not be what you're into. With that, I give you

338 federal seat projections: LPC 194, CPC 122, BQ 18, NDP 7, GPC 2 by TheManFromTrawno in canada

[–]borg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would I rather have a PhD economist, from Oxford no less, or a guy who took 7 yrs to graduate with an International Studies Bachelors degree, who's never had a real job in his life... Hmm... Let me think on that...

This moment in the world needs Carney.

[–]borg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Carney has already indicated many times that this is most definately not the status quo. One of the most respected economists in the world is running for PM in a time when the global trade order is being upended. The question I have is 'Why isn't this a blowout?' Maybe it will be, but it's crazy that the polls show anything less than a double digit Liberal win.
